Firefly crew picture sparks rumors

Nathan Fillion posted a new picture today that shows him hanging out with Firefly alums Joss Whedon, Adam Baldwin, and Alan Tudyk, giving us only the clue "together again" to go by. They're mysteriously clinging to a tree and looking up at the sky, but for what?

Is this some new Firefly project? A precursor to the next installment of Dr. Horrible? Or are they just at Nathan's house watching fireworks over the weekend?

Fillion is being madly mysterious about the whole thing, which may or may not be his intent. If it is, well played sir. If it isn't, just tell us what this is all about!

Honestly I'd assume Nathan Fillion is too busy to work on anything other than Castle, not to mention the rest of the cast. No idea what they're doing now.

If it is a Firefly related project, I wonder how Alan Tudyk is involved. Flashbacks perhaps?
 
People can do two tv shows at the same time....at least thats what I'm hoping!!

They never really said how much time passed since the season finale and the movie. They could just pick it up again after the first season but before the events of Serenity.

As for Nathan Fillion and the others being too busy, its possible of course. But from what I've seen of interviews and such, everyone absolutely loved working on that show so they might be willing to work hard to fit it in. Fillion even did a Malcolm Reynolds cameo in his new show Castle.


That said, I won't get my hopes up.

I'd say most like another Serenity film, but OH GOD a firefly rebump would seriously make the happiest man alive.

Most of them aren't doing much else, and I think Fillion would drop / rearrange Castle to work. And the people who work on Castle seem like Firefly, so they might make it work.

Joss hinted that he had a way to bring Wash back. Given how much of Whedon's experience is comic books, it might be something ridiculous.

Actually, they did. In Serenity, after River goes berserk in the bar, Mal slams Simon up against the wall/floor/something and says something to the effect of "8 months! 8 months you had her on my boat, knowing she could go wrong any minute".

The timeline is a bit ****ed, though, since the second time we see Mrs Reynolds / Saffron / Whatever, he mentions running into her "6 months back".

I really hope it's not any kind of a flashback thing. I'm anxious to see what comes next.

Ah, yeah. Forgot about that.

I'm willing to bet that this isn't anything though. It was probably just a get together with friends, and is just people being wishful. Most likely the "obtuseness" of Fillion on explaining the picture is simply him not realizing what a shitstorm the internet has made already due to the picture being so vaguely described.
 
Yeah, I feel like it's pretty likely that it's just the first time the four of them have been together at the same time since Firefly. Tudyk was with Whedon for Dollhouse and Fillion was with Whedon for Dr. Horrible, but probably not at the same time, and Baldwin has been off doing his own thing.

Simon and Kaylee are guest-starring on Warehouse 13 soon, I think, which is a show you should all be watching anyway.

If they promote / treat it properly, it could very well be the best & most profitable show they've ever done.

Good program that :D not sure if the one's they're playing on Virgin1 in the UK are up to date though...

I just had a kind of internal meltdown reading the OP, I think a few circuits in my brain fused and it took about 30 seconds of slackjawed twitching to recover.

I can't help but get my hopes up, but it doesn't really mean anything. Still I am suddenly considering becoming religious just so I can pray it does.

I was so, so tickled when Fillion dressed as Mal in the Halloween episode of Castle. I literally paused it and ran to get my dad and brother who both love Firefly as much as me but don't watch Castle.

Castle's a fun show to jump into every now and then.

7/10. It's entertaining and totally watchable but it's not particularly spectacular. I mostly just watch it because I adore Nathan Fillion and the chick detective is pretty hot.
 
7/10. It's good to have a more "realistic" crime show that doesn't revolve around ridiculously sophisticated and expensive technology, but I still lost interest halfway through the second season.
 
7/10, I see it when I have absolutely nothing to do. It's fun I suppose.
