As maybe someone here remembers, I was having trouble with my TV. It wouldn't turn on. Therefore, it seemed like a good opportunity to buy this:

Click!

It's coming on Monday, and I'm working to upgrade all of my stuff to be HD Ready. I've picked up the Xbox component cables, am looking to upgrade my DVD player, and have picked out a high definition TV service plan with Cox. Good times.

But what I really, really want to do is play The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, or Metroid Prime in progressive scan. And what you need to do that is buy Component Video cables straight from Nintendo. And guess what? They're on backorder until June.

So, does anyone here know where I could find these cables other than from the Nintendo store?

You might be able to find an off brand component cables from your game store or a large department/electronics store.

I've been using a VGA converter and a system switch box so everything I own - Xbox, Cable satalite T.v., PS2, VCR's, DVD players area all hooked up to a PC monitor and it looks better than HDTV but my monitor is only 17" at this time so ...

Anyway I had to buy special cables - Xbox s-video cable came from Monster Cable brand. Wal-mart or try online under monster cable to see if they offer Game cube component cable

Game cube S-video cable I got at wal-mart

Unfortunately, no 3rd party I can find makes them. My only option now seems to be waiting or ebay. Is paypal a reputable method of payment?

Could you tell me exactly the parts you got to hook your cube up to your monitor. i've been trying like crazy to find a solution but to no avail. your my only hope. BTW paypal is quite reputable.

Wow... this is surreal.

I finally ended up caving to Paypal and getting the cables on Ebay, by the way. The improvement in image quality was really astounding - it may seem crazy to pay $30 for cables, but it is very worth it, believe me.
