Games that you cant "get into"

In comparison, Halo is very easy on the pc. It's designed to be played with a pad, and using a mouse takes away nearly all the challenge - and with it much of the tension/excitement. The occasional areas of level repitition never really bothered me, cause I was having too much fun trying to stay alive (the same levels on the pc version nearly sent me to sleep)

Another 2 games I could never 'get' are MoH and CoD. Linear, simple gameplay, and little challenge. How is this fun?

Cant get into Metal Gear solid and i mean i cant get into any of the series.

Strange my cusin who just turned 15, beat halo the year it was released pretty easily/quickly on its hardest dificulty. I remember because he use to brag, telling me kids at his school couldnt beat it or it took them alot longer.

Also I should add, he thought halo 2, and half life 2 were pretty hard.

Halo 2 is certainly tough (even more so than the original), but HL2 is very easy on all difficulty settings - especially in comparison.

Maybe his bragging was just that

HL2 was very easy for me, and yes i played on hard. I never played HALO 2 more then once, so i can't say, but the overall feel was nice. As i said i can't wait for them to port HALO 2 to PC.

BTW I think that any console is a crappy system for a FPS. I hated playing HALO on the Xbox, cuz i would get pwned, to used to PC style controls.

Well your obviously, not the only halo fan on this forum, or person I know. Yet your the only one that mentions how dificult halo 1/2 is compared to other shooters are. I thought halo 2 on legendary was pretty hard, definately harder then half life 2, but I didnt see where its anywhere near as difficult as you make it out to be. ALso I definately dont think its harder then any fps on the pc. Maybe your just better at pc games, then console games.

Oh my god! You missed out on one of the greatest video game stories ever. Go rent it and play it again, I command thee. You should know (if you played any other MGS game) that the game gets progressivly better towards the end. Seriously, give it another try.

[metal gear solid ? for PS2]
Yea as awesome as the graphics and game was, i couldn't get into it, but after you get to the part where the bridge blows up, with the chopper, it is one of the best game experiences ever from there on out, but it ended to soon

It's hard for me to get into all games but I force myself to beat them although it may not all be in a short time period. It may take me over 3 years to beat a single game. I'm and avid game player and it's one of my few hobbies. I play any and all genres and I play tons of games at any given time. Right now I'm trying to play through about 20 games lol. In my given life time I can say that I've played and beaten over 1,000 games, probably more. I play in short bursts though, for about a week or two at a time then I stop playing that game for several months and pick up others.

Interesting. I see that most of you didnt like HALO. Why? At the time it had good gfx, and solid gameplay (online was the best IMHO) and i cant wait for them to port HALO 2 to PC.

Just thought it was very average and repetitive

I definately dont think its harder then any fps on the pc. Maybe your just better at pc games, then console games.

Maybe (you really didn't find Legenday on Halo 2 that difficult? It's insane lol)

Next time you get a chance - have a go a the first level on Legendary. Tell me how many times you die :sniper:

What do you think is a hard fps on the pc? (this is the one thing that bugs me about PC fps. Other than online, i've yet to find one that ofers challenge. Some are pretty tough, but in a cheap way - 'trial and error qucksaveathons' Golden Eye/Prefect Dark and Halo 1/2 take skill )

I remember when I was younger, I could borrow, buy, or rent a game, and have it beat in a day to a week..I beat like several hundred games before I was 15.

I probably beat only 50 the last 15 years (Im 30 now),
about 6 of those came in the past 4 years

I think it's a combination that games are alot larger and longer nowadays, and that I am not a kid anymore. I'm not so easily amused.

oh come on guys metal gear solid 2 and 3 are amazing when you LISTEN to the story...and the official metal gear solid music just makes me want to cry when i hear it, it really is that kind of inspiring kind of music.

there is no game out there like it, splinter cell is a metal gear rip off. its a slower game yes but once you know all about it, its addictive, and BY FAR MY FAVOURITE SERIES. get into the characters and story, and you start to feel emotions for them...

oh and each game's ending is better and better. its the only series ive ever played where the story MAKES SENSE, and the ending is just superb everytime.

never got into halo as it was sooooo shite it was unbelievable...and the mp??? lmao!!!

couldnt get into doom 3, just another shooting gallery with the od puzzle...yeah yeah 'what it is and what it isnt' blah blah blah, but it still felt...tacky.

eve was hard to get into, but once your join a big corporation who help you out, you get dangerously addicted.

in fact there is no game out there that TRULY keeps me coming back. sure i play games over and over, but thats just because im bored and thought the game had some cool parts, but mostly to pass time.

Mafia, I hear people say it's great, but I just can't get myself to play it.

Same goes for Halo and PoP: Warrior Within. Just... 'eh'.

But I generally don't complete a lot of games, only games in 5 years that I've completed are:

- HL
- Freedom Fighters
- HL2

That's it, and got pretty far with Hitman 2 before 'eh' struck.

about mafia: Take it from me..I guarantee that it will be one of the best games you've ever played..

I put it next to Half-life as best game ever.
