andyhodges said:How quickly you forget though when the fake emails from Gabe Newell were posted on this site and around the other communities regarding, "Despite of the code leak, we are still releasing HL2 on time!" We told everyone that it was not releasing at the same time you confirmed the email being fake. So let's not go there.
Yup, and this is probably where some people say, "HL2.net has fake interviews!" because of some bozo compiling an email and faking a Gabe Newell interview. Just about every site fell for it, including mine. People don't realize that this wasn't the fault of HL2.net or for that matter, my site.D33 said:It's that's the one I think it is then there's a valid story behind that which no one outside the halflife2.net team knows about. Needless to say, and probably the most I can divulge, is that it was a joke played on other staff members which accidently got forwarded outside the team.

This is why many people are skeptical of emails ever since, although not the fault of HL2.net. I guess if people want to say, "HL2.net has fake interviews from fake emails!" they might as well label my site and all other HL2 related sites the same thing, as we carried it and then later announced that it was fake.

Confirmed a hundred times? Well let's see, when we asked Valve, they didn't know anything about it. It's also embarassing to bring a Valve spokesperson on the air and they don't know about it either.Dile said:This information has been confirmed a hundred times, including the one that Gamespot recieved, still you handle it like a lie.
As for the 2 week thing that was going around - I was correct.
andyhodges said:Shuzer, I do have to clarify something that you kept saying over and over again in previous messages in this thread. You kept saying that we at Half-Life Radio do not talk to Valve nor have we ever talked to Valve about this topic. That is very untrue. We talk to Valve all the time, if not each day. We don't necessarily talk to them about stuff like this or "Hey, when is HL2 coming out?" as there are other things we discuss. Obviously we run Half-Life Radio. Valve has been on the radio, it's no "sudden" surprise that we talk to Valve. Then again, you probably don't listen to Half-Life Radio to know this.

When the GamingElement asked Valve, they were told the very same thing.
Gamespot later (yeah, this always seems to happen) confirms it from Doug Lombardi, but changed their story and said that it wasn't in "2 weeks" as everyone thought (and posted).
The impending SDK released was confirmed Valve PR head Doug Lombardi. "We will be releasing v.1 of that in the coming weeks," he told GameSpot. Presumably, the game's release would be not far behind.
As for the 2 week thing that was going around - I was correct. The SDK is not coming out in 2 weeks. As for the 18 million dollar lawsuit between Havoc and Valve, I was correct again. There is no such lawsuit.
This is the job for the PR department, not Rick Ellis.
All PR information should be funneled through the PR department (Doug Lombardi) so that this doesn't happen again.
With so many things going on week by week, and with so many members on my staff (49 people!) It's hard to keep up on exactly what went on. Your post and banning happened by a moderator, I'm sure as we were trying to keep that stuff off the website. As we got new information, we added and changed the news story. Since Tuesday, we changed the news story about 10 times because of conflicting reports.Shuzer said:The lower portion of your article went from you talking to VALVe about the SDK, to you talking to VALVe about the legal hangup. Again, this happened in a perioid of 5 minutes (hence my pessimism), plus I was peeved that I was banned for no reason, that I am sorry for I have listened to HLRadio a few times, and from what I heard it was quite good overall. I just didn't like the fact that, instead of getting a civil reply to my message at your site, the message got deleted and I was banned.
Edit: Andy, any chance I could get unbanned, though? I'd like to check your site out, but, unfortunately I can't. There's no way I'll ever be able to even listen to one of your broadcasts if I can't access your website
And, once again, I apologize for calling you guys liar about talking to VALVe. I'm just a little confused, as I stated, why the lower portion of your article morphed into something completely different than originally posted.
