Whilst I doubt there is such a thing as a gay gene, this doesn't rule out other acts of "nature" rather than "nurture". It's perhaps not entirely water-tight to suggest this, but scientific studies of Male to Female Transexuals have shown that areas of their brain have more in common dimensionally with women than men. This makes sense when you consider the existance of Intersexed people - if people's bodies can be altered prior to birth so that they develop both sexual characteristics, why can't something as delicate as the brain get effected during the early stages as well? To me, homosexuality is just a milder form of transexuality, probably just effecting areas of the brain that have a sexual function. The role that nurture has from thereon out is up for debate. Perhaps latent difficulties are brought out by life experiences. Still, it seems to me that nature must play an overriding part. For every child molested in their youth who turns gay, there is probably 9 who turn out completely straight. Some people are just born unalterably straight, others gay and perhaps others have the potential to go either way, depending on nurture.xcellerate said:Now as far as I know they haven’t found a ‘gay gene’ so I’m going to assume there isn’t one (gasp).

We're not sad anymore,

It's ok, hey, to be gay!

Lou said:OvA, I love your icon:
I might be reading too much into it, but... oh never mind...
So you guys are upset because I said I didn't like male homosexuality... Why should I like it?
If I liked male homosexuality then I would be a fag, don't you think?
Of course, the logical conclusion is that most people here like male homosexuality even though they claim to be straight. Fine, I can tolerate that. :cheese:
Skaadi said:For the last time GET OVER YOURSELF!
Just because a person has no problem with homosexuals does not mean they are gay. And no man on this forum said they 'like male homosexuality' they said that they have no problem with it, its not the same. .
Lou said:Good. I don't like it either. Does that mean I have a problem with it? No, I just don't like it. You know, I went to Six Flags last weekend and I didn't like it (Disneyland is better) Does that mean I have a problem with it? No, I just didn't like it.
Skaadi said:OvA's avatar is a joke, it doesnt mean he's gay.
OvA said:says who? :naughty:
Skaadi said:*notices man hanging off OvA's arm* Oh! now I get it.

Reading comprehension is certainly not your strength, dear Skaadi. I have been repeating, over and over, that while I don't like male homosexuality, I can tolerate it. And what do they do? They call me a homophobe because I say I don't like male homosexuality! It's like they want you to become gay or something, otherwise you are the 'bad guy'.Skaadi said:Oh that is funny, now you say that you dont have a problem with it when all you've been doing in this thread is saying how much you do have a problem with it. .
now that's the way to handle these things!OvA said:There's this ultra-homophobic guy at school, every time I see him I wink at him.
OvA, the mods have not complained about your icon? I am still in shock.OvA said:There's this ultra-homophobic guy at school, every time I see him I wink at him.

"I'm not a homophobe."
"Homosexuality should be disallowed."
"Homosexuality is unnatural."
"I don't have a problem with male homosexuality."
"I don't like male homosexuality."
I don't dislike gay people (not the same as disliking homosexuality) -- as long as they stay away from me. I also don't like homophobes. In fact, they can all go to hell.Skaadi said:I believe RavenO's quote here sums that up. (in relation to your posts)
And you can 'tolerate' it? You make it sound as if you have to live with a bad smell constantly in the air or an annoying fly that buzzes around. its obvious that you cant stand them.
While you been saying all that, anyone can tell its not what you really feel, or what you've relly been saying. anyone can tell that.

sHaDdoW said:*Shudders* Flamboyent gays. There annoying, Even with my tolerence. Although most of them are not like that 24/7 thank god.
Skaadi said:Its not very nice telling yourself to go to hell like that, because my dear friend, you are a homophobe. You're even worse than my brother. You've started to say that you have no problem with them only after people have challenged your insufferable views. Please, stop contradicting yourself, its not going to win you this arguement.
