GOG to shut down, oh sorry it was a hoax to generate buzz

One of them could be Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance, though that's not an RPG.

But it's a fantastic game with a D&D setting.

Yes, Nox would be nice.

Woo.

Haha, Strategy First..

I'd never consider giving them money, heard from reputable sources that they have had financial difficulties and held out on pay-checks to workers etc.

Mind you, that was over a year ago, things might have improved.

Only one release left from this group. Obviously it will be BG2--Complete!! Can't wait for that. I already have the discs of course, but this should make it so much easier. Very excited.

How is Neverwinter Nights and how is the Multiplayer?

The multiplayer is excellent and extremely populated with tons of modules.
The singleplayer is, quite frankly, shit except for the Hordes of the Underdark expansion.

So you're saying me buying retail NWN Diamonds Edition(The one with all expansions etc) was a complete waste of cash if I don't play MP?:(

No, the SP is good for the two expansions. Well it is better than the original campaign I think. But I still enjoyed all the SP, so I wouldn't worry.

I never finished the singleplayer so I can't comment on its entirety, but from what I played I didn't like it at all.
I did enjoy the HotU expansion though, it was a blast.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a waste of money either since if you decide to ever jump into the multiplayer you'll have a great time.

Baldur's Gate / Sword Coast + Icewind 2 happy dance incoming!

Oh god my debit card has been raped by digital game purchases.

What the **** did any of that mean. Please just make announcements like normal people, GoG.

Man, when they announce 'Baldur's Gate 2: Complete' I am going to drink a gallon of water, light myself on fire, then pee all over myself to put it out right before I buy the game and play all day and night and all the next day, etc.

I have a question, Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga, has it been fixed to run fine on PCs with high-speed CPUs etc?

I know GOG tends to try to fix their games so that they can run fine as soon as the customer installs them on the OSes they list the game as working with.

I already own the entire BG series and IWD series retail, but almost pondering buying them off GOG if they fix speed issues etc.

BG works fine if you run it in the BG2 engine anyway, via BGT or TuTu

But surely the switch to the BG2 engine has some effects on gameplay etc?

I always prefer my first playthroughs of a game to be as close to vanilla as possible.

My copy of Baldur's Gate from GOG runs fine on a Quad-Core powering my Win7 64-bit PC.

BG1 and BG2 were very similar mechanics-wise. Some extra character creation options you can ignore, but aside from that it's more or less just balance tweaks and exploit fixes.

The packages are so cheap I'm tempted to re-buy them in preparation for buying my new PC next year, that way I won't have to worry about compatability issues with Win7 etc.

If you're waiting for an upgrade, you may as well wait for the inevitable weekend these games go on sale.

Thing is I don't visit GOG often, so risk is I might miss these weekend sales.

But I guess you're right, I'll have to keep my ears open though so I don't miss them.

Buying videogames now, on mid-november, is kind of masochistic. Christmas time is near and everything will be on sale.

You should get emails about deals. I just signed up and they tell me whenver something's on sale.
