You've been here since sometime this month and you're sick of waiting already? Wow. Must be tough.

still, even if you have been waiting since the first day it was announced, its nothing compared to the wait for games like Doom 3 or DNF. And as for wasting your money on that system you've got in your user name.....Yeah...that's a waste :hmph:

According to all the benchmarks i've seen of CS:Source and the HL2 Stress Test, they're wrong

this is why i have this system
And why are you complaining about spending all this money on your system? CS:S isn't even supposed to be the most graphical game anyway, besides, thats 143 FPS dude, that's ****ing awesome

Oh my god, that's the THIRD time you've shown that pic. NO ONE CARES!

Just because it's being beta tested doesn't mean gold status is 1-2 months away....thats crazy
I took into the account the "Valve factor"

people need to know what to get to be ready for hl2 .
To be ready for Half-Life 2, most people don't need to get anything. I'm sick of hearing this shit.

wait and see, just like the first day CS:S came out i jumped in a server and half the people were complaining because it looked like sh** on there pc"s, i told them to upgrade weeks before it came out , did they listen noooo of course not.

ask anybody on this thread valves min. requirements is BS . Personally if you want to see the best get the best

actually according to the benchmarks the 6800gt and x800pro are very close, some benches show 6800gt higher, some the x800pro.

the only time ATI truly wins is at 1600x1200 4x 8x with the XTPE.

if you like hl2 then you better have the right hardware.

No money = get a job

People who actually have jobs and REAL bills to pay know that they can't just plop down 1000+ bucks to upgrade a pc. They have more important things to pay like rent, food, misc bills, car loan, gas, etc.
Maybe if you live with your parents and don't have to pay shit, then you can spend 1000 bucks upgrading.

EDIT: and don't even get me started on if you have a kid. My bro has a baby girl and you don't even want to know how much medicine costs. It's highway robbery.

P43.2/1Gig/X800P loves himself, or rather his computer, too much. He should also stop ordering people to upgrade to something like his comp, its not as easy as that. Alot of people who are going to play hl2 are still in school, even if they got a paper round or something like that it will still be ages before they can spend money on a new computer. As for the older people who work, maybe they have better things to spend money on rather then a computer.

[/rant]

I agree with the Kiva128, no one cares about that screenshot, stop posting it. He also summed up my post while I was typeing it, people have better things to pay, like bills.

you're right they don't NEED it. but if you want to run with anistropic filtering, anti-aliasing, highest detail and high resolutions at a smooth framerate, you'll WANT one of the newer video cards with a smokin cpu as well.

oh please. it doesn't cost $1000 to upgrade if you are anywhere near a smart pc part shopper. and then some people have good jobs.

utter nuts, my old machines FX 5400 runs CS:S beta at 36 fps on 1024x768, and it looks lovely,

the only way I can describe the X800 at present day, is overpriced, over kill.

balls to this mentality of I need 4080 x 2014 resolution, wit 18x AA and AF on my 14 inch monitor (lol), to make the game RoxorZ,

a 9600 XT at £110, runs the game so damn well on highest settings anyway.

In my experiance, at this moment in time, your just wasting your money on these top of the line GFX cards.

I've never, ever, put on AA on a game before, my eyes cant seem to tell the difference. Weird..

I also cant the tell the diffence from anything upwards of 60fps, 140fps eh? Whoa! I cant tell the difference.

Valve's minimum requirements are not bullshit. The game will be perfectly playable on a minimum spec system but at reduced visual quality. Anybody who thinks they'll be able to turn on all the eye candy on a minimum spec machine is smoking some of the good stuff, but that doesn't mean Valve is bullshitting us about the requirements.

36fps is nowwhere near the best. neither is 1024x768. so its not so nuts.

Too put an end to this, this guy is a graphics whore, simplely... He wont go for anything other then top, and would'nt dream of playing it without everything set to max. Sigh. No point telling him otherwize. *Me stops posting here*

if your not going to play the game with everything set to high ,then why even bother buying it in the first place , just play hl1 thats what it will look like with low settings .right people

you can just about notice it , and it doesnt really do much or add to the experiance if it looks nice anyway.

its just a 'smooth lines' option :p

I see it as a blessing, I dont need the newest cards, as Im not interested in AA etc.
