It sounds pretty damn good :)

I just want a GTA that's pick up and play with no downtime.

Yeah, like the good old GTA's. Get in the game, kill some scouts and crash a car into a train.

Playing this using NO$GBA(A fully functional NDS emu, perfect 3D emulation etc), it's pretty fun, it feels sorta like a mix of the original topdown GTAs and GTA4.

But no stylus? How does that work?

Cool, i'll have to check it out. Try before you buy ;)

For something like Chinatown Wars it's really worth playing on the original platform, though. I've played GBA and DS games via emulator and they don't look or play as well when taking up a tiny portion of the monitor. Ok for for average games, but for something as special as Chintown Wars ...

I had another session on the train today (2 hour commute ftl) and am still totally blown away. Full wanted level, swat vans and helicopters everywhere - it was like having a tiny window looking into a fully functioning Liberty City. I haven't enjoyed GTA as much as this ever :)

I like it quite a bit, yeah ... but I don't have a DS. So it's gonna either have to be on an emu or not at all :p. Lower your monitor res as low as possible and it gets to a decent size ... ghetto yeah but it works. The only graphical error I've noticed is wireframe headlight beams.

Fair enough (now's not a bad time to get a DS now the DSi is about)

You can bypass that graphical error by changing the render to OpenGL, rather than NO$GBA native. It worked for me.

Also, there are third party utils for NO$GBA that can upscale the emu big time, I use it for my 1080p monitor, just fyi.

Check out the NO$GBA forums for more info on these utils.

I am assuming you use NO$GBA.:p

Hey let's not talk about how to get pirated copies of games working k

Yeah, I'm using NO$GBA. The only problem with the openGL method is that it kills my performance. I'll definitely look into the upscaler, dicking about with my systems resolution is getting old.

Finally got this the other day for £17 which is a bargain considering I've already got more playtime out of it than some full price DS games I've bought in the past. The controls are fluid and most importantly it's just as fun as any other game in the series. I love the return of rampage mode. It's something I didn't realise was missing from IV until just recently and I immediately felt it was a slightly worse game because of that.

the driving took a bit of getting used to because i'm not used to topdown but its awesome, i'm on the level where you've
robbed a bank and have to hide in the giant dragon suit

Here's something fun, make sure you have a range weapon equipped before entering a car. As you're driving, jump out the car and hit attack. The car basically flips over and lights on fire quickly as you shoot it.

Note: don't try this with bullet-proof vehicles, it won't work.
