GTA IV Trailer coming March 29!!!

waiting usually means up to a year ;(

freaking hell it's getting harder to not buy a console: GTA, Mass Effect, Conan ...might have to break down and get one
Its only a matter of time for me. I want all of them but I require a handful of excellent titles and/or a price drop before I shell out the bills.

although gta ports to pc are far better than most pc ports and with live anywhere pc users should have access to every add on avaialable to xbox360 gamers at release ..perhaps in a special edition? (hint hint)
Oh yeah--the PC editions have always been way better than their console brethren. The possibilities seem endless!! Of course, this time around a much beefier rig will likely be required unfortunately. DX10 anyone? Maybe!! :x

.....can I come over and play?

and thanks to Age of Conan I'll have a beefy rig to play GTA in all it;s glory ...2007 is going to be a good year for gaming

I can't really think of one memorable game in the past 2 years, that explains why my enthuasim for games has been down lately.

I do think this year will be a lot better than the past few though. Ep2/TF2/Portal, UT3, Age of Conan, Mass Effect, Spore...

ahh my master plan is working according to plan ..soon you'll ALL be anticipating Age of Conan

muahahahahahhaha

oops that was supposed to be with my "inside" voice

nevermind

I doubt this will overtake GTAIII in awesomeness. I don't think any game can bring back that awesome feeling.

Yeah, unless they have like perfect streaming map 8 player multiplayer (a coop mode, some good cops vs criminals games, etc).

That's highly doubtful though ;(

sweeeeeeeeet
im sick of clones like crackdown and saints row
the king of the genre has returned!

Just gimme a new huge map with as much to do outside the missions as SA did and I'll be well happy.

Vice City blew. Save for the soundtrack, which was awesome, it was a complete rehash.

vice city was my fave out of the bunch ..probably cuz of the era it was set in ..my least fave was gta3

GTA 3 had that amazing feeling, and I felt Vice City extended that too with the aircraft they added, but San Andreas was absolutely piss poor, very vast and empty in many places. I'm hoping they've taken it in a new direction not just added gimmicks like jetpacks or jumpjets.

I liked San andreas ..call me a fan boy but I really enjoyed it ..I liked playing as ganster wannabe ..the only problem I have with GTA is the timed mini games ..they can be so frustrating especially since you cant quick save but then again i spend most of my time just driving/running over pedestrians

San Andreas was excellent fun. But the problem was quantity over quality, and this is evident throughout.

I wouldn't have minded the huge spaces between the cities if it wasn't so evident that Rockstar had wanted to put content in there. It's a bunch of halfway-towns that could have been cool, but are now nothing more than a pit-stop restaurant and maybe a house that you'll never use.

I remember playing GTA3 on the PS2 when my dad first bought me one. I loved GTA1... not so much GTA2 though. I was amazed with 3, I instantly fell in love, it was brilliant, one of the best "gaming memories" I have.

I hope GTA4 gives me a similar moment.

I didn't like San Andreas, it was too big and lacked, like Samon said, quality. The map was huge and they just packed it with loads of crap. It still had that fun GTA experience though.

Didn't like how all terrains, desert, tropical, country and city was all packed in it, lol, wtf.

GTA3 rocked. Loved the setting and the vehicles. Though the missions could have been better.

Vice city was great too. Didn't liek the setting as much, but the gameplay was spot on, soundtrack was ace too :D

San Andreas tried to be too big. I didn't even complete it. Got bored of it and those damn toy missions for that guy were so frustrating.

Hopefully IV will be like GTA3's setting with VC's gameplay, and not a map that is too big. If it is big please give us something to do in the emptyness.

If it looks anything like that old rumored game 3 Days to Vegas, I'm preordering it.

Vice City was the best game of the III generation, imho. Soundtrack + setting + movie scenes kicked major ass. City was smallish but still really 70s/80s retro. Mercedes was nice too. :p

Still weird how he couldn't swim then. It couldn't have been THAT hard.

I agree that Vice City was the best. The 80's atmosphere, cheesy soundtrack, and somewhat enjoyable storyline just pushed it over the top (despite having the worst city layout). My favorite part of the game had to be property acquisition, where it really felt like you were controlling the city. This feeling was destroyed in San Andreas and was only brought back a bit in Vice City Stories ... but it just wasn't the same.

GTA3 was a close second. The game had a much darker feel than the others and definitely had the best city. The mute main character really did it for me and the Mafia/Yakuza were the best organizations in any of the games thus far.

SA ... was a good game. The gameplay was improved and the environment was absolutely awesome to play in. None of the cities were as good as Liberty, but all of them combined into one game, coupled with the desert and countryside was in an entirely different league. If this game had just had a decent narrative and sense of purpose, it easily would have been the best GTA game, maybe the best game period.

San Andreas was easily the best of the series. I can't even play Vice City on my PC anymore because of the camera controls - stuck behind the car.

Oh yeah, San Andreas took out the cinamatic camera replays. Wtf. Gay. That was really bad, took all the fun out of insane stunts.

Those labeling Vice City as the best speak the truth. It was hilarious, memorable, stylish, and intense, evoking the 80s' as a decade perfectly.

I actually hope Rockstar releases a more plausible, down to Earth game this time around, with Rockstar's clever satire focused towards current issues rather than past trends. I say Brazil or South Africa or the Philippines.

I dunno, I'm one of those guys who loves modern environments. Maybe that's why I loved GTA3 and hated Vice City, and maybe that's why I'm against a GTA4 being in London since London is kinda really old and ugly (to me lol).

Either way, i'm sure GTA4 is going to be ****ing awesome because, every GTA game has been since the first one .

London isn't all old buildings and designs. :p All the buildings along the Thames in Central London are all modern designed buildings (and they all look fantastic at night!) The Theatre, the London Eye, Westminister Bank etc, alot of office buildings...

I'd love to see it in London. If they could get it to actually behave like London at night, like in East London at night or on the Tube leaving Central you could get ganged up on by groups of people, only to kick the shit out of all of them. Awesome? AYE!

But then, I love London. Central and the near-outskirts, anyway.

I had a dream where the GTA IV trailer came out, and it depicted everything we talked about here, and made a huge deal out of the cinematic replays being back. It was beautiful ;(

Maybe the next GTA should do some globe hopping?

I just hope I don't play as some ghetto trash trying to look cool.
