GTA IV Trailer coming March 29!!!

I hope it's in the near-future, like GTA 2.

I'm not a huge fan of labelling, but I can issue the broad statement of wannabe gangsters with a love for mindless violence quite freely,

I keep hearing that everywhere..what the hell are "chavs"?

They're the British equivalent of American wiggers.

What would piss me off more than anything is Rockstar having you play as a chav/wigger ... but I'm sure they'd never do that. Then again I didn't think they'd make you play as some thug gangsta asshole either.

I really liked the Yakuza from GTA3, probably my favorite organization in the series. Since they've already revisited the Mafia in LCS, I really hope they go back to that.

I wouldnt mind GTA:UK. Would be fun and we've got some pretty funny stuff that could be done, with all the different accents. Plus we'd get to kill chavs!

I also loved the gangs the most in GTA3. Loved the Yakuza to bits.

I really liked the British character in GTA:SA, i think he was in VC too. He acted well considering.

is the definition of "chav" actually "worthless"?

GTA:UK = The Getaway. Which blew. So keep it in America.

That's abit of a stupid thing to say. Yes, Getaway 1 and 2 blew. But Getaway stuck to the layout of London pretty well, whereas you know, Rockstar don't. Guess what? True Crime LA did the say as Getaway, and that blew as well. So basically, if Rockstar had stuck to the layout of NY, Miami and so on they wouldn't be as good as they were. So poo argument.

I don't understand how that correlates... I think that's just a fluke.

I have no bloody idea what the layout of these cities are, I wouldn't even know if it was accurate or not, what difference does it make?

What he means is this:
The real streets and such arn't as fun. They remade and modified the city to make it funner. The Getaway stuck to London incredibly well, sacrificing authenticity for fun. Rockstar does not do this, and thereby a GTA set in London by Rockstar vs a GTA Clone set in London not by Rockstar would go to Rockstar because they sacrifice authenticity for fun.

Ah. The word "layout" usually means street arrangements and such, not more detailed things. I agree then.

Rockstar would make their own maps based on the UK. They'd make it fun.

Remind me of UK gun laws... Is it illegal to own a gun? Because it might be unrealistic if as many guns are available in the game as they have been in the past games.

Gun crime in London right now is at an all time high I believe. There has been several fatal shootings in the past month alone. The law forbids firearms full stop, but that is a distant memory now sadly.

What's more fun? "Several" fatal shooting in London, or hundred's in cities in America? Hell, a town called Flint (Michael Moore's films have shot there) which has a population of 50,000 has ten or more killings a day making it America's worst place to live for several years.

I can't believe I'm bragging about death statistics.

It's not unusual to see people carrying guns in London.

In the sub areas of London you'll be lucky not to see a gun.

I know for a fact that Rockstar Toronto was working on a 60s mod style game set in England. Not necessarily the next GTA, but it sounds damn cool

Actually the person who told me used Quadrophenia to describe it, I was trying to remember the name in the above post, heh
He told me last summer, I wish I could say what he was doing on the project but at the time he swore me to secrecy, he had to sign one of those disclosure agreements, I've been anxious to hear something about it since he told me, I really hope it's the next GTA, sounded awesome

agreed that would be awesome

A 1950/60's gta set in London would be awesome. Proper old school gangsters, Kray twins stylee.

NO OH GOD NO!!! anything set in the 50's/60's would just be disgusting, ESPECIALLY in the UK.

I personally think it'd be a waste, stick with modern a modern setting, much better cars. The setting should be something huge, with freeways, a huge megapolis to kill people in, wide roads...not some lame boring streets of London, where most of the streets are so tiny and congested and all teh cars are disgusting and boxy looking. NO.

If they did that, they'd completely fail and I'd lose all respect for Rockstar.

You guys not played Mafia? That was set in the olden days, and was GTA-style ... personally, I loved it.

They need to make another modern city type GTA, alike GTAIII. I'll say it again, GTA III was the best.

I don't understand why this series keeps selling so well. I lost my interest after GTA II.

Didn't they already do GTA:London 1969? Doing another game in the same setting/time period would kinda be retreading old ground. Then again London is the only remaining city from the original game they haven't done yet so it makes sense that it could be the city. I doubt it'll just be London though. We may see a mock-up of Europe with 3-5 big Euro cities, similar to how SA was Cali/Nevada.

GTA: UK

There is no other option. America's been done to death, and nobody cares about Russia, western Europe, Africa, South America, Australia, or Indochina.
