Hadditha Soldier didnt report massacre because it wasnt "unusual"

yes because wars that the past somehow justifies atrocities against civilians today ...it's the old "well if they killed civilians willy nilly then so can we" argument

Actually, my point was that war has always lacked humanitarian concern.

you miss the point of the thread ..it doesnt matter if the word was "unusual" or not (the washington post reported because they had a copy of the statement so for all intents and purposes the word itself is not as meaningful as the meaning behind the word

I think you intended to confuse the Marine Col.'s statements for the sake of dehumanizing him. Of course, with the added purpose of making monsters out of our soldiers and mountains out of mole hills reguarding this massacre, but this responsibility of yours is beside the point.

No, the point still is that the Haditha Massacre is a terrible instance and those involved must be delt with accordingly. But if it were me CptStern, I would attempt to preserve immediate judgement as there are crimes far worse unto the Insurgent side of things.

And on those, you have yet to comment.

regardless of what you meant how does that justify anything?

I think you intended to confuse the Marine Col.'s statements for the sake of dehumanizing him.

actually you couldnt be more wrong ..I'm not criticising the Col, I'm criticsing the entire war machine that thinks it's normal that 2 dozen civilians are killed in what they thought was a routine skirmish with insurgents

Of course, with the added purpose of making monsters out of our soldiers

yes because I have such a narrow view of the situation in iraq ...think bigger ..who are the true monsters?

and mountains out of mole hills reguarding this massacre,

so 4 soldiers intentionallly and methodically executing 24 innocent civilians including half a dozen children under the age of 5 is a "mole hill"? one of the children was 2 months old kerberos ..what do you think bullets from an assault rifle did to it's tiny body? at that age it probably weighed no more than 12 pounds

but this responsibility of yours is beside the point.

pardon?

what do they have to do with the haditha massacre?

And on those, you have yet to comment.

...but this topic is on US soldiers massacring civilians ...should I talk about the waether? or perhaps the price of auto insurance? what does that have to do with the massacre? ...oh wait ..unless that is you're attempting to nullify the massacre by saying "they did it so it's ok if we do it too" ..eye for an eye ...except the insurgents arnt killing american women and children are they?
