Half-Life 2 may be Done

We're doing this in the gabe at firearms thread. Also look at the page numbers at the bottom. Somebody's good at photoshop but shit at commonsense

An ad on the magazine is not false. It's true - we've known since before E3 that HL2 is done.

Gabe will either not reply, or he'll just say "Yes". But that won't mean HL2 will be out on 22nd - the game is done, but for all we would know PC powerplay prolly did a hands-on of the full version.

Actually, PC PowerPlay have a reputation for having shitty grammar and spelling (read: bad editors) in general...

I'm telling you, either it's a forgery or the copy editors aren't worth their salt. EDIT: According to Brian Damage, it's not out of the question that the answer could be the latter. How sad. :LOL:

But seriously, the fact that this seems to be the only existing picture of this magazine page makes me very, very suspicious. If it's real, it shouldn't be a big issue for another Aussie forum member to take another picture, from another angle, in different light, with some Chex Mix or something.

I doubt anyone (at least anyone that reads these forums) is that good in Photoshop. Layout and printing can be done but the "sheen/gloss" from that page can only "made" in a few ways. I can only think of 1 in Photoshop, maybe 2 and then another with a certain type of printer and or paper.

But I guess anything is possible. I would tend to believe it is legit.

As for the other Aussie's I quote:

Dont get me wrong it is possible. The Xerox Phasers give off that "glossy" look without special paper. They use a solid ink technology which is basically "wax".

I have a "black" sheet I use when scanning. (my Phaser 850 is down so I cant print) I will take a picture of that when I get home. So it is POSSIBLE to fake the gloss/magazine style paper. Its a 3K printer though........

I do not believe it is "fake".
 
guys this is not fake.. i will take more pics from different angles.. i too do not no why more people have not posted about this.. the mag was late getting here.. i was sure someone else must have posted about this because subscribers get it early.. but there was a 5 day delay on the mag getting to store's for some reason.. im thinking they wanted to confirm they were getting the game befor send the issue out.. but give me a tic.. i will post more pics of the mag.. its real.. im not that good at photoshop lol.. i don't think anyone is?
 
Yupp, it's right what kidrock said on the first page. We will just have to wait and see. I don't care when, as long as it comes out.

If valve decides to take more time to make the game better, that's all right for me. At least we know the game hasn't been rushed right?

that enough proof? i would like it to be moved back into Half-Life 2 Discussion if possible? more people look in there.. but i guess it don't matter.. but the pic is real & on the 22nd pc powerplay will have something about hl2.. might be a review.. might be a hands on.. who knows...

We're demanding more proof for the validity of mag advert for a game, than world leaders did for WMD evidence. Do you reckon the Coalition get sent a photo of a hostage and are like "bollocks, that photoshopped!"

OMG! You get DVD's with that magazine? In the North American PC gamer they still only give out CD's. :(

I say this because I noticed it says that there is a HL2 trailer on the DVD.
 
yes we get a dvd version or a cd version.. the dvd's have loads of stuff.. so thats why i only get the dvd version.. i am going to subscribe to the mag soon.. its $96 aussie for a year.. for 13 mags with dvds..
