Ok i admit it is a fun game if played properly, but a just think that if we have a mtach we want to do it on something a bit more silly so it doesnt degenerate in deep hatred between the sites. At the moment, it could go either way...The formerly mentioned hatred or a sort of relationship where the two sites take more humerous digs at each other and when it gets really tough come together more. I mean, when hl2.net went down, i noticed on some other unmentionalbe sites they seemed genuinly saddened by it as they has lost their sparing partner.
 
OK, maybe not CS, it's too serious.

I say we all meet each other and hit each other in the face until only one site remains standing.
 
Christ there's a few idiots posting in that thread on there.

I spoke with Calvin who originally did the avatars and he said he distributed them freely for any person/site to use.

Who the hell is Calvin? They were made by Rec our old Editor for exclusive use for Halflife2.net. I really can't wait for Andy Hodges to wake up so I can shout about this :|

They can't think of a proper answer that they could use to defend their site thats why.
 
Even if they have 30,000 register people and stole or avatars, no problems. This forums rawks so much more than halflifesource.com. :cool:

I think it's a case of someone burying his head in the sand there (and I don't mean RBLdiver).

I'm done with them to be honest, they're beneath contempt. They've ceased to exist as a point of reference or worth in the HL2 community as far as I'm concerned because of their behaviour. They've been caught short on issues, and lack the basic decency to make amends. :|

Heres hoping, however I suspect we will be seeing some of their regular members come over here to start some problems.

Their forums have as much speed of movement as a glacier. If they have more than 30 regular active posters there, I'd be amazed.

Yes I find that odd considering they were much more pissed off at you than me or Dedalus. I guess they realize that banning you would make them seem much more childlike.

I like how none of them were able to give you an answer other than "we don't care" and then proceed to flame you.

What I find odd is that your right they do seem to be the most pissed at me. However, I have been very careful to not call them names, insult them nor their website. In fact I've maintained all along that they have a fine website and a good community and that I have no problem with it. I carefully stated that I only wanted an answer to one single issue that by their own words was not a big deal.

I truly didn't mean to start any sort of flame war and have been as nice as possible over there. So ya, I just really don't understand all the anger directed at me. I couldn't care less what they think of me but I don't like them twisting my words to justify some sort of attack on this site.

They are just flaming you because the thread is in the "house of flames". It really doesn't matter what you say now, you could give the greatest argument in the world and be Fragmaster or Gabe Newell (depending on which one they prefer) and they would still flame you. Plus it doesn't help when one of their moderators insists on banning everyone but you so that you would have to face them alone without anyone who could support you.
 
the mods were sneaky little ****s. they didn't delete or close the thread because that's too obvious. just move it to the flame house and let the forum goers bring it down, then ban anyone who retaliates (even though it's a flame forum...so i'm still trying to work out their logic on that one).

anway, let em have their cake and eat it. stupid kids.

Its not so bad, Neutrino obviously won the argument they were insistant on continuing since they never did come up with any arguments and its obvious now that the mods there really are hiding something otherwise they wouldn't have banned us and they would have explained everything themselves.

So really they didn't get any cake and they just made themselves look like jerks.

Anyway im going to bed now. g'night!

EDIT: Plus they were never able to explain the "borrowed" avatars, or the reason Munro was banned before even making a single post over there.
 
Heh, maybe they did originally have 31,000 members, they just all got banned.

You have to love the conspiracy theorist mindset over there. Someone who posts on hl2.net points something out over there, and suddenly it's a massive attempt by hl2.net to discredit their site - like we did with PHL, apparently.

I wonder if they'd be willing to accept responsibility for everything their members post, as they seem to be expecting us to do.

I asked them nicely to remove mine and they took it off... yay! he acually said that people send THEM avatars... probably little 12 year old theives... that need to be tortured. :eek:
 
Jackal, as far as I have seen you've been pretty respectful and polite about the issue, so I put in a good word and asked Andy to see if he can do something about your freaky eye heh.

As for the others who got banned, well, from the sounds of things you were being belligerant idiots whose only purpose was to try to pick a fight. I expect that's why you were banned, Andy doesn't really like people who do that (I wasn't the one to ban btw). As for moving it to the flame forum, that was the proper place for it. Besides, had I merely locked it, you would have probably brought it all up again in a new place I'm guessing :/

They falsified information regarding their site and then attempted to cover it up when they were exposed. Diver, nice guy that he is, doesn't have the heart to admit it. What is it now ,5 people banned without any legitimate reason, and not one word from the mighty Andy Hodges about the apparent inconsistencies at his website? A good 2 dozen people in IRC witnessed the views record for the Farewell fragmaster thread jump from about a 1000 to 8000 in a blink of an eye......seriously when people are reduced to pampering their egomania that much you have to question their sanity...

On a more serious note, its not just the fact that they are a "rival" website. Its not even that they were decieving others, its that they dont have the integrity to stand up and admit it when everyone can now see them as the frauds they are.

Edit: I would like to say i dont speak of the whole website, i know there are many people there that just like lots of people here, only care about halflife2. However, what good is a halflife2 community if it is broken apart by such trivial matters that can be forgotten tommorow if just one man owns up. Seperate websites should be there to offer different opinions on the game and and ease of management compared to massive sites, not to break the overall community down into small factions.

Which I think is a good reason, stops people from here coming along and causing havok. Plus who cares about false claims, its a forum not a political party or a company its a place of discussion :\ :p
