And its only for Vista...*ucking weak!

i own the xbox version, i just think its retarded theyd make it only compatable with one OS, its not like its that system intensive.

well with pc anywhere pc users will be able to play halo2 with xbox users ..gotta see how this will turn out: mouse/keyboard vs controller ..of lot of veteran HL2 xbox users will be owned

This is Halo 2?!?! And it's Vista exclusive? It looks like shit!

Consider:

Xbox uses Dx9
This looks the same as the xbox version.
It's Vista-only so it can use Dx10

Wjat?

I don't care if the graphics still look like xbox 1 graphics. What sucks is that it's on Vista only. Not to mention that they(Bungie) was probably more worried about putting their available rescources to the development of Halo 3 than improving the graphics of Halo 2. When I get Vista, then i'll get Halo 2...

Sure it looks bad, but to be honest, the graphics could look like ****ing Crysis for all I care, I still wouldn't be interested.

YuckkkKK.

If they put it on WindowsXP, I don't care how bad it looks, as long as it has the single player coop mode online. BUT its on Vista, gg.

They're using this as a start for their new "Games for Windows" campaign.

Yes it sucks you can't get this for XP, but they really do need a flagship title for them trying to revive PC gaming... You do want them to revive PC gaming, don't you?

actually, that's not going to be supported because of the ownage issue

future games could though.

but yeah, I think it's pretty damn funny that they're trying to push windows with that crap.

When did PC gaming die? \=

Of course I want them to revive PC gaming, but they're not going to do it by releasing a game with 2001 graphics in 2007 and making it exclusive for a brand new OS.

Happypants!

He's speaking to the player in that screenshot. Must be saying something like ... "Ohh, why you shootin' that flashy sh** at me? Don't you know who I am? I'm Happypants, beyaatch!"

Less shader happy and more anti-aliasing may be less pleasing to the average eye, but I honestly prefer it.

Well, Half Life 2 would make a better flagship title for PC gaming than that hunk of shit. The problem is, that HL2 is already out on PC :p

Looks like Halo 1 on the PC.

No AA, why?

It looks diabolical.

One of the main reasons PC gaming is dying is because the hardware is so expensive, you are not going to revive PC gaming by excluding the majority of the gaming community, not to mention making it mandatory for anyone to spend another 200,- for a new OS and thus increasing the price of PC gaming even more. And certainly not when your game is a lousy xbox port that doesn't even meet the standards of most XP shooters.

Thing is, The X-Box version looks just as bad when you play it on the 360 using a higher res. (Not to mention items appearing due to fade distances etc.)

On a TV or a really low resolution the engine can get away with it. At anything higher than 640X480 it starts looking a little dodgy.....

best be an early shot, with nothing much done from the Xbox.

This shows just how sucky the graphics on the box are, Microsoft seem to be gambling heavily on the name alone.

I thought that is why we have Half-Life, because Valve actually puts effort into their campaigns?

If they want to revive PC Gaming, they should bring out Freelancer 2 or Freespace 3 on Vista and DX10 :p

On the box? You mean the X-Box? Taking into consideration the XB1s spec I'd say it was pretty good graphics, although there are deff. better looking XB1 games out there..
I mean, the XB1 used a GeForce 3.5 GPU of sorts.. I doubt a computer with a GeForce 3 GPU could run many XBox games with the graphics they have :)

It doesn't look like they've done anything to the game at all lol.

Even if the graphics were running off a NASA space shuttle, it is still Halo and for that reason, it will always suck. :|

Looks absolute pants.

What was the reason for being Vista only? Did they overrate their game so much that they thought only Vista could handle it? Or was it a Microsoft thing?

PC gaming won't be revived by releasing shoddy ports of 2-year old games. That's what's hurting the PC market.

Deus Ex 2... Thief 3... and however many other games that were killed by being aimed for the Xbox primarily.

A calculator has better graphics.

Haha, I just checked out the link and frankly... the site itself looks like shit.

i thought people were finally over judging games based on screenshots, it seems not.

oh, and for all the "halo will always suck lolol" - stay the hell out of the thread.

I'd disagree. Parts of the Halo series stand out as good examples to the Genre. In particular the character design, sound, voice acting and music as well as breathing life into the NPC's you play alongside (The Marines in particular). Something that many games still can't do. That and the music is awesome.

The problem is, that some of the design choices taken by Bungie really pull down the overall quality of the game. Case in Point Halo 2, it starts out superb, but soon as you become the Arbiter and find the second Halo and stuff it all goes a little downhill and stops becoming a fun game and starts becoming a chore. Which is a shame, because Sgt Johnson gets some great lines near the end but isn't really worth going through the game to get them.

As far as Halo 3 goes, I was slightly dissapointed to learn that by the time the Master Chief has arrived Earth has been invaded. Defending earth from the Covenant as the MC would have been something very difficult to screw up. (In fact thats what Halo 2 was meant to be.) Ah well, I'll wait and see......

Or I'll just get Gears Of War...
