Heroes ..

Yeah, this is the final week for alot of my favorite shows. :(
 
Yay, great episode! Sad to see Sylar got away somehow. At least we saw the beginning of the second season. I can't wait to see it. Ohhh yay!
 
That was awesome. Hiro in the past. I can't wait to see what Kensei will teach Hiro.
 
I could've sworn they were hyping a 2-hour finale tonight, but whatever.

I KNEW Nathan would fly Peter away if he did eventually explode from the moment he said, "I'm not leaving your side" in Peter's first vision after coming into contact with Sylar. I'm so happy I got that little prediction right.

I wonder who Molly Walker was talking about when she said there was only 1 person she didn't want/couldn't track.

Who wants to bet that Kensei is Hiro's father but he's immortal? :)

Also, is anybody else a little annoyed that it seems Sylar is still alive even though his life flashed in his eyes then went dark? I figured that was a clear sign of him being dead until the blood stains of him crawling into the sewer. Although, I suppose the cockroach was just a symbol of Sylar's resilience (flashback to Mohinder - episode 1).

Bring on the wild theories :D
 
Why did peter need nathan to be able to fly? I thought he could fly on his own. And if they shot him, wouldn't he have just healed anyways. Seems like it would have been better to shoot him than let him explode.

i bet peter is alive...
one thing i dont understand though... why couldnt peter go it alone? i mean why couldnt he just fly away by himself? is it because he can only use one ability at a time or something?
kensei being hiro's father is an interesting theory btw
and i wonder who molly was talkking about... maybe the main antagonist in volume two.. someone that hasnt yet been introduced
and maybe that means sylar will become good.. maybe those images acted as a kind of epiphany for him... hmmmm

like each one before it, this episode leaves me wanting more! cant wait for next season
i think i'll try and get into Lost while i wait :p
 
Now that I take a step back and come down off the finale-induced high... I realize it was kinda weak. There were WAY too many unanswered questions and lame events.

Let's count the possible ways the bomb could've been averted that didn't involve Nathan's sacrifice:

1. Peter manages to fly his own ass out/teleport his own ass out or just plain control it (maybe he couldn't because he can only use 1 power at a time or he just was around new heroes and lost complete control again)

2. Nathan flies his ass up really fast, lets go, flies wicked fast in opposite direction sending Peter into the upper-atmosphere to blow up and fall while Nathan survives (although Peter didn't exactly come with a timer and apparently Nathan wanted to be sure + mega radiation would've f*cked him over)

3. Claire could've just shot him :| Then they get the bullet out via DL's phasing, and voila, Peter's back. Just wash, rinse and repeat until Peter can control his powers.

4. If Haitian didn't disappear from the planet (where did he go?) he could've just suppressed the hell out of Peter. GG

I'm sure if we were creative we could think of plenty of other ways.

Was anybody else disappointed that there wasn't any real event that led to Peter's final overload? It just kinda happened and everybody knew it was for real this time...

Also, how do like 10 different people completely ignore Sylar dragging his bloody ass like 15 feet to a sewer, moving the cover and going in when they were like 10 feet from him? Oh yeah, let's also completely forget that he was dead there in the first place so we won't notice this bloody trail.

Hiro stabbing Sylar was weak unless Sylar wanted to be stabbed: "You" Hiro doesn't even slow time down and just lunges. Apparently Sylar is fast enough to stop bullets via telekinesis as they are fired but not to do anything about a small asian with a sword from charging at him.


So let's sum up:

-Peter explodes killing his brother - who is to say it won't happen again :| He came close to overloading a few times before.

-Sylar is still alive - Hiro has failed to kill him yet again

-We are now left with a SHITLOAD of unanswered questions that I don't even feel like taking the time to list.

I dunno, the finale lacked any kind of...finality in the story line. Nothing is really over or answered.
It's just beginning to feel like Lost...

I think Peter is just too soft to handle the radioactivity while anything remotely dramatic is going on around him, so he struggles when he's running looking for Claire FGS. What chance did he have while absorbing another group of powers from those around him?

And I think the person Molly meant might have been talking about Peter's mom. She seems to always know things, she was also an architect behind this all and a "knowing everything" power fits with her character in the show ("mama knows best").

Thinking the same thing, PvtRyan seems to have confirmed.

Sylar not dieing was annoying, although I did realise before hand that the comic shows him being stabbed not killed.

I'm thinking that the idea behind shooting Peter was that he had totally lost control of his powers and therefor be unable to regenerate (also that would be why he couldn't fly away himself). Yea the ending was a bit weak, but Peter meeting Charles and all the characters meeting up and going, "hey I know you" made up for it.

Just a theory my brother had about how Peter was able to talk to Charles. Peter has Hiro's teleport/timetravel ability since they met while on the subway. Peter also has the whole invisibily power. When he was knocked out it was those powers combining that allowed him to speak with Charles.
 
HAH! Just watched episode 118 and noted that when Hiro brings up the sword on the computer in Linderman's archives it's labeled CRM-114 :D Wikipedia beat me to it of course but I'm still proud I spotted it :)

Oh yeah, the finale was great, even though Sylar should have died. I want them to have accomplished something (apart from, you know, the whole not making New York burn to ashes thing.).
 
The ending was awesome. Well, Hiro's ending--not Peter's and everyone else's. I seriously doubt Peter is dead. Nathan...maybe. But not Peter--you just can't kill off arguably the most bad-ass guy on the show, esp. not one who can match Sylar in terms of abilities.

I personally was expecting WAY TOO MUCH from the final showdown between Peter and Sylar. I wanted a sort of Neo/Smith fight (though on a TV level) and man was I disappointed.

And yes, that was Takei under that mask at the end. :bounce:

But his body is gone and a bloody trail leads to a manhole cover with a symbolic cockroach (different from regular cockroaches in many ways) on it.

There is still the possibility that Kensei is just his ancestor and Sulu just plays the part because they look alike. I'm still putting my money on the immortal father thing, but I'm just saying it's a possibility.

And Noah Bennet just wakes him up from the past? Nah, I think it was definitely a vision brought on by some architect of these events. Remember when Mohinder had one of the same types of experiences with that soccer kid? Mohinder couldn't talk with anybody in his visions, so there's room for it to be somebody else or even just the same kid using his powers to their fullest extent.

Nope, if you watch his eyes it's the past. They show him killing everybody he has in the season, it shows his mother dying, frozen guy with no head (Molly's father), Zane, his mother, etc. Then it finishes with a vision of him lying EXACTLY where he is there, slumped over on the concrete and his eyes go dark. I figured that was a GREAT sign of him dying, but then how did he drag his ass into the sewer :|

The only thing I could think of is somebody else doing it and the only person that comes to mind is the super-boogeyman.


Another thing that should've happened. We should've seen Candice's REAL form when she got knocked out...not her hottie-facade form.

Zach Quinto, who portrays Sylar, has been, in my opinion, an important aspect to the series. Are there plans to make him a series regular?

I hope Sylar LET himself get stabbed by Hiro because he saw something in the future. Although nothing leads us to believe he did. The only times he saw the future it his crazy eyes stopped at the events in that plaza and the final one was him lying on the ground stabbed.

EDITx: Another thought: What if Candice knew she was losing the battle or it was her purpose to, so she created the illusion of herself losing, that way she wouldn't return to original form.

Yeah same here. I was hoping for something really epic. That snippet they showed us from the future episode of them fighting was a lot better than this even though it lasted only a few seconds. This finale wasn't as good as I hoped for.

Oh and what the **** Peter, you have thousands of special mutant powers and you just punch the guy in the face? That was ridiculous. Sylar is at least creative with his powers.

That's what I was thinking. "I can throw him in the hair, I can fly up really high then drop him, I can stop time....ahh feck it, I'll just punch him."

Well, to be fair, Jessica could rip a grown man in two so if Peter got her powers, those punches probably had a bit extra "punch" in them (hehe, see what I did there?) but it could have been more dramatic, I agree. But then the whole mission statement of the show is to put superheroes down on ground level.

I doubt they were the super human strength. I mean, I don't even think Peter knew she had those powers until she whacked him..he didn't have time to get that power under control.

He sucker punched Sylar like six times in the face, and the guy just had a nose bleed and laughed it off. :/
 
Couldn't someone drag Sylar to the manhole? Maybe the ultra bad guy Molly hinted at? And his power is he can turn into bugs/animals?

Those punches Peter threw were not normal punches. They were MEGA BASS punches. DHUM!!

If Nathen ends up dead that would be stupid. Probably he took Pete up a good distance and dropped him just as Pete urm...climaxes and flew his ass away from danger.
 
I hope the **** so. Nathan's aweshem, I want to see what brought around his mood swing.

Also what his mother has to say. Damn that's a creepy lady.
 
I'm confused. Didn't we already see Sylar in the future as the president using Nathan's body? So I guess Nathan dies.

Although I can't remember. My timeline's confused.
 
So that bug at the end was another "hero" then? But a bad one who had something to do with Sylar going down the manhole?

Ick, a bloody manhole with bugs coming out of it. Gross. :p

My thoughts exactly. Well almost anyways. It whould however, be pretty lame with a bug villain.
 
If Claire (or someone else) had shot him, he would've just charged up at a later occasion. Now they got rid of the charging up once and for all. And I don't think he would've been able to fly on his own in the state he was on.

I'm a little disappointed too that Sylar didn't die, as I though the really bad guy that Molly was talking about would be the main villain in season 2. Still, pretty good episode.
 
I think the really bad guy will be the main villain, and maybe Sylar joins up with the rest of the heroes to fight the bigger bad...

Though I'm not sure.

I mean, Im not a dedicated viewer of Heroes...but I watched the finale online...great lead up, lame climax, but the ending with Hiro was funny as hell, IMO...
