HL2.net is a big part of our lives.

*pats Raz*

It's ok dude, it's ok.

I plan to continue the discussion of emotionality as soon as I return from my place of employment.

I already know exactly what it would be like hanging out with any of you for a day.

There are too many of you to go through, so let me know if you want to hear it.

If you hung out with Virus he would just spend the day telling you what it would be like spending the day with various other members of hl2.net.

Tr0n, used to be the only guy here from alabama; now I think I'm all alone. :(

What about coyotes?

Like... really smart coyotes?

Edit: wow, this thread moves fast.

Australia meet up, anyone?

There are about 20 of us all up...
Just where would we hold it?

PS qonfused, correct me if i'm wrong but it was you and outpost that I played CSS surfmaps with a few years ago and had a blast singing through the mic / annoying the living shit out of everyone else on the servers, yes?

Indeed! Shit, I had forgotten about outpost! Good times, man.

Would you like more Alfredo Sauce on your Samon, Corp Sheepo?

Lol'd

But seriously, there's enough of us near the east coast to have a meet up in New York or something.

I don't know what to say about this thread. I don't feel I can quite formulate how I feel about you guys. It's mostly positive. And I know I'll go to America at some point in my life - I might even study there - and when I do I hope I will be able to road trip across the east coast, if not the rest of the enormous goddamn country.

I asked Antipoop if he wanted to see A Silver Mt. Zion in London but he did not come.

Hey Kupocake, we meet in the same town! LET'S MEET UP

Bob_Marley is the only semi-regular that lives near me, but then again, he is only about 2 miles from me.

LETS MEET UP

or not.

There was the TF2 clan (really just a tag, many people still wear it), the BF2 clan, and before that... the CSS clan. Two, actually, one for the US (HL2US) and one for the UK. That must have been like 05. Actually had a couple of servers for a while even.
<3 Too bad the American CSS side wasn't really kept up with as far as I know. The UK clan dissolved soon after IIRC.

Yeah I've been here over 5 years now, and I can't remember spending more than a week not checking this site. That's quite a commitment, if only I could get off my lazy ass and hunt Evo down in Caerdydd.

I WILL COME DOWN THERE AND PICK YOU UP ****ing damnit

Cant remember who originally said this but... "you're all qwerty to me..." :p

-dodo

Aren't there several Brightonians here?

Wait, did I just demand safety in numbers?
edit: Saying you'll study in the US, are you going Postgrad?
I think I'm going to give it a shot, although some people tell me that nobody does just an MA in the US. And I don't want to be there for a full seven years or whatever it is for a PhD...

PhD is usually 3 or4 years, bra. At least, for real subjects like Proper Science. You're soooo dumb for not knowing that you big dumby!

Yeah, but don't you have to do an MA first? So it'd end up rather more in total...

I confess to having no ****ing clue how these things work.

No, MA isn't required to do a PhD in real subjects as long as you get a 2-1 or 1st. Also MA in real subjects is generally just 1 year.

I looked it up and you're right - in the UK, at least. But in the USA a PhD can take up to eight years, and often earns you a master's degree 'in passing'. So that makes sense.

So few people do :(
Imaginary subjects like painting or learning dead languages are too popular.

What's the difference, really? :naughty:

If we had a meet on the East Coast, NYC might not be the best place for it... super expensive and where the hell would we stay?

I think we should consider a huge week-long east coast HL2.net camping trip somewhere in the Appalachians, maybe western NC or VA, or kentucky.

Cheap as hell and you guys can all experience the wonder of Ennui + grill/campfire

I'd be up for that, I sure as hell can't afford NYC right now. I've got friends in Kentucky too.

If I met any of you irl, I'd probably lol and walk away.

Not before sounding like a less-informed (is that even possible?) Rush Limbaugh and subsequently making a grandiose cry-me-a-river apology, though.

I get the feeling you'd be lucky to get this response from most of the members on here. I'd probably pretend I didn't know you while pointing to your dragonshirt and laughing behind your back with my friends.

TYPICAL! :hmph:

I wouldn't laugh at just anybody though as I don't discriminate, I laugh at everybody. PATHETIC HUMANS!!!!!

I would laugh in his face.

Anyway, I'd definitely be up for it. However, I can see a HL2.net battle royal more likely if we all get in the same place. I don't think everyone's internet ego will be able to cope in one place. Hahaha

:D

If it's in VA I'll definitely roll out, that's my backyard!

Food, lulz and beer (and whatever else). It's guaranteed to be alriiight.

If I met any of you irl, I'd probably lol and walk away.
Typical response of the odd one out. Like a fat girl in the hallway, way in the background of a hot chick photo.

PATHETIC HUMANS!!!!!
That I can relate to.

I don't even have an ego in person. I'm a joker but I'm always laughing, you can't really get mad at that.
