HL2 NOT delayed.

Some time ago, Vivendi apparently released a statement to a few *very* select sources that Half-Life 2 was delayed until 'the holidays.' Whether this was a simple snafu within the company, or one/several place(s) inventing their OWN story, we do not know.

Valve officials specifically say in response to many concerned e-mails that they are 'unaware of any delays,' or words to that effect.

Vivendi later retracted any such statement of delay.

Unfortunately, the poison ivy was already planted, and even though it keeps getting ripped out, somehow it keeps springing up elsewhere.

Gabe Newell's latest response to a question about the delay rumor was "No comment" which simply means that he will neither confirm nor deny the delay.

So at this point in time, the matter is still very much up in the air. An official unambiguous statement would be nice, but it doesn't appear we're going to get one at the moment. It sucks, I know, but that's just how it is.

That "No comment" response kind of bothers me. He went from "First time I've heard about this" to "No comment."
