I'd like to comment again on the myth regarding separation of sexes in the US Military. While it is true that women aren't allowed to join the frontline infantry, that line is constantly blurring. In the current Iraqi conflict there have been more and more women ending up on the front lines - not as infantry but serving duties like convoy escort, which, as we all know by now, can see action just as hairy as the front lines. The bottom line is that when it comes down to it, military men and women work together to get the job done - in situations like this sexuality never comes into the picture. People that assume otherwise have obviously never been in a situation like that, and as such, should shut their ignorant mouths.
Gays are sexual beings just like straights are... but they are also human. Like most service members, most of them have also got common sense. Sure there are some who are idiots, but there are plently of straight idiots as well - should I reference all the drama about rapings and sexual misconduct at the Air Force Academy? Or the General who just got ousted for being a bad boy? The military has nothing to fear from homosexuals in except its own bigotry.
