Ok ok, maybe not. Just make sure that the BOTH of you are fine with it, and that the girl has called it quits with the guy. Otherwise, not only would it show the girl has no loyalty (bad for you), but also she'll play you against the current guy (also bad for you).

Was in a similar situation recently with a girl who claimed to be madly in love with her bf yet she ended up cheating on him with me (i didn't initiate anything btw....but i didn't stop it either).

If she likes you (and she clearly does) and you like her, i say go for it!!

God I love the "other guy" mentality.

In this kind of thread with the "guy" asking, it's always "move in and edge out the other guy, he's probably a douche anyway". Then when it's the "other guy" posting it's "dude, the guy is moving in on your girl, f*ckin smack the douche."

That said, "guy" probably does get the girl, cause "other guy" probably WAS a douche. But three months down the track, "guy" just becomes "other guy" anyway.

And why's that, you ask?

To be honest...and speaking from a girls point of view, I would wait it out. Even though most of the guys here thing you own the "other man" nothing you do. He has done nothing to you, and if she is serious then she would treat it that way. She would end it with her guy and then you are able to do what you want. Speaking from some one who has been the other girl and the GF...it is not a good feeling either way.

Suppose, I think the best thing he could do, is clear it with his best freind, and then tell the girl that he really likes her, but doesn't want to do anything while shes seeing someone else. If she likes him as much as it seems she does, she'll break up with him.

Ok, this situation just got a lot worse.

I was talking to a friend of mine last night who asked her out in March or something, and got rejected. I asked him if they flirt, and he said they did, and went on to tell me a story about how they would go to Borders and "cuddle and read poetry" to each other.

And yet...she rejected him.

(BTW, she still had the boyfriend at this time, too).

I'm sorry I keep bitching, but yeah, I need to bitch to someone.
