Should they have reduced my post count to 0?

I'm shure that by now, most of you are aware that two days ago I was "owned" by Chris_D and Zerimski. I made a thread celebrating my 1000th post and promptly had all of them removed from my post count. I apologized to Chris_D and soon had my posts back. Shortly following this, Zerimski swooped in and reset my post count again.

Now, all I'm asking is if you think that their punishment was fair. I'm not saying that some form of punishment isn't necessary, after all, I did break a rule, I created a spam thread. My point is that removing all of my posts, while funny to most of you I'm shure, does seem overly harsh.

Basically all I'm asking is weather or not you think they were justified in setting my post count to zero, rather than reducing it by a smaller ammount, or even banning me for some ammount of time.

I demand stfu!

What does your E-penis matter anyway, to us, size doesn't count.

It is in the rules, most people do seem to know that making a post concenring the number of posts you have means it will WILL get zero-ed,

quit whining posts mean nothing

NB, Admins if it doesnt say it in the rules you shuld stick it in to be fair, i cba to check tho....

well I recall a mod also celebrating his post count but I cannot recall who....all I know is that this particular mod did that right after zeus did the same thing he also got his post count deleted...I think chris is wrong for deleting ur post count.

Leave it this way, I like the sight that you're owned :D

I'm not asking if you think it was funny, I'm asking if you think it was fair.

It seems a little harsh. One spam thread should not be enough to have your post count reset.

I think it was fair. These forums have gone down-hill thanks to spam.

you made a stupid post and got punished for it, if your post count really matters that much to you, then you should be bringing it up with the mods, not with us, we can;t change your post count

Yeah I think it was fair. Besides, it's a lesson for everyone else to learn. :p

well it was spam sorry but you deserved it

I can't see how a simple person simply posting that he has reached 1000 posts is really any worse then all the shit that is posted on a regular basis on these forums in reply to reasonable/unreasonable threads or requests for help.

Starmonkey.

bvgasm, you're certainly not the first person this happened to and you won't be the last. it's perfectly fair and has multiple precedents. You should have done what I did for my 100th, 200th, 500th, 800th, 1000th, 2000th, 3000th, and 4000th posts, and just say so in your post in ADDITION to what you had posted already.

WTF? I ask again:
WTF?

Who cares? Oh yeah that's right:
No one.

Post counts don't matter.

Just the stupidity of actually caring should merit you the reset.

It's not really about the post count, it's the principle. One post shouldn't be enough to have it reset to zero. Personally, I think Danimal should have closed/deleted the thread, reset my post count to 900, then maybe banned me for a week.

i've had my post count reset many, many times :O but it's just because i've had over 3 different users on this forum :p my own request

Dude...you'd rather be banned for a week than lose your post count?

Hahahahhahahaa. You're still bitching about that? Hehehe.

I don't care, but you generally don't make threads about your post count. Every so often, someone does, and then they get it reset, and then they bitch about it. But no one ever cares very much. It's a post count after all...

P.S. HAPPY 2,455 posts!!!! LALLAOLAOALOAL

Well, if they're that meaningless, why don't we just get rid of them?

It's actually not a bad idea. It'd stop spaming because nobody would care about increasing their post count...there's nothing to increase.

Well you seem to think everything else is your decision...:E
It's my decision to decide that I decided not to want to decide on the decision to make post counts visible. ;)

I agree with getting rid of post counts.

But then everyone would whine because their e-penis would shrink up and disappear.

Erestheux ur making me dizzy argh too early in the morning.
as for the post count issue . u really should have changed ur stuff and put an apology in ur thread when u had the chance. it is a bit harsh i guess but they have to make an example out of someone ...and ure it :D . i voted for overly harsh btw.

Hehe, sorry man. Gotta <3 my avatar, though.

That's the thing, most people already don't care about increasing their post count. Only monkeys like you that make threads about it do, and you mostly get dealt with appropriately (1000 - 0).

I'd actually be for getting rid of post counts, since all those noobs that have been here 1 month, but already have 1000 posts would get 0 respect without their big number next to their name and would still be unknowns. Only those that make meaningful posts would be "known" and respected on the forum. Yes.

I've been here eight months, I'm not a noob anymore. That thread was the first time that I gave any indication that I cared about my post count. I really don't, I'm only complaining because I think Zerimski's punishment was overly harsh.

Stop crying over it then if it doesn't bother you!

Take it up with Zerimski. Making a scene isn't going to get what you want.

You demand restitution? Gimme a break you're lucky you got them back at all. You don't like the punishment don't make us give one out. It's not a democracy

Apparently it did, looking at his postcount, and it certainly wasn't me that did it.

That was me. It was a couple of days after I did it to Zeus, so I decided to do it to for the irony. Everyone took it way too seriously and started screaming bloody murder at me, then StarMonkey reset my postcount. I decided against putting it back so I could regale anyone who would listen with the above story.

ffs, It's just a god damn post count.
It's not the post count that...err...counts.
It's what you type that does.

Congratulations on your attainment of internet numbers. I would now like to offer you a job with a 6 figure salary. I'm sorry I could not offer you this job before but all our employees must have a post count > 100 in order to be considered.

You are locker number 45, Eric here will show you the ropes. Now have fun and make me some money.

Lets compromise. Everytime someone celebrates their 1000th, 2000th post etc, all other member's post counts gets raised by 1/2000. I think that would annoy them just as much as putting theirs back to 0. It's like the opposite of removing their post counts. Mwuhahaha.

Ok, I'm only joking.
