I was blasting zombies away with my team at the end of one of the campaigns and then all of a sudden there were EMT's, cops, and firefighters in my room. They were asking all kinds of questions and then gave me a bag to vomit in. I dry heaved for a while and then I was carried out of my apartment and put into an ambulance. Not only did i have a grand mal seizure but i managed to sustain a posterior dislocation of my left shoulder. (I was told this was very rare, the doctor informed me they see it maybe once or twice a year.)

I get to the hospital and i waited for a while until finally the doctor saw me. After telling me what happened I was taken for an x-ray before they started to tend to my shoulder. It took about 5 doctors and 20 minutes to finally get it back in place. The following picture is what my shoulder looked like before it was fixed:

As you can see I wasn't very happy. I was then given a good amount of pain medication and was in lala land, as you can see in this next picture:

After all the tests it was determined that the medication i was on at the time was the cause of the seizure so i can play l4d again :). Im still in a sling and im going to have to go to physical therapy for a while but other than that im ok. Not a good week for me :( This post would be longer but im typing with 1 hand.

The good news is that im not epileptic and I don't have to stop playing video games :D

Holy shit.

If that happened to me late at night I wouldn't be discovered until morning...

Sue Valve. Then give me your free copy of Left 4 Dead. Then sue Amazon for the hell of it.

Glad you're ok, relatively.

Maybe we should have paid attention to those seizure warnings in the game manuals!
D:

What exact medication were you on? Thats ****ing badass

You best pray for a Zombie Apocalypse when you see the bill so you don't have to foot it.

If I had a seizure in my room, a dislocated shoulder would be the least of my worries. I'd probably crush my windpipe on something and maybe even decapitate myself somehow.

i was on welbutrin and klonopin...but i stopped the klonopin and they say that's what did it. I didn't taper off which would have prevented this.

whoa that's heavy stuff. Good to see that you came out OK though.

Awwwww you look so cute in your second picture.

Edit: So who called the paramedics?

This happened to me once before too. I hit the floor, dislocated both my shoulders but got back up again and finished off a tank single handedly with my pistol. Yeah.

Glad to hear you're OK, that is pretty scary, you were fortunate not to hit your head and the shoulder was the main damage. I hope they're looking into fixing those meds :)

So who called the paramedics?

my roommate heard me hit the floor and he actually almost gave me CPR but luckily i came to quickly enough...that would of sucked, bum arm and broken ribs

Glad you're ok dude. Sue the medication company! Or doctor who prescribed it! Or both!

Glad you're okay.

So what happened to your team?

He was probably the only one not incapacitated while the helicopter had arrived.

sooo... where'd the cops come from, and why?

off topic: yay! 666 posts!

That's nuts. Benzo's are actually really intense- I was just reading an article on how the withdrawal effects are brutal, and (in rare cases) can last upwards of a year! Certainly better than having epilepsy, though :)

Well that's shit.

Remember if you die I get your stuff.

/me switches on video games

srsly, they give you a medkit or something?

they gave me an arm sling and a prescription for painkillers...:)

Wow, glad you're alright. It makes me feel better now that I laughed at imagining the "In Memory of: Tyguy" after you died in real life.

wow that's pretty scary man glad you're OK

... this is why you don't do drugs
listen to Tom Cruise

And this is the reason for shit healthcare prices in the U.S.

Or perhaps because they are a mostly privatized industry with the intent of profit.

Also, when I am playing a game online, and someone goes AFK, I will wonder...

Pills here!

Glad to hear you're alright.

Benzos gave you a siezure... maybe I should lay off the Xanax + L4D

I have a script and a problem, mind you all! I'm not just some mindless slobbering drug addict.

Srsly

Lucky that your roommate went back to you and helped you up whilst you were incap. I guess you must be given pills and healed as well.

Way to left the team down.

Glad you're okay and shit.

i know, i felt bad...it was right before the plane was refueled. I have a feeling my entire team got slaughtered because of me. I can imagine them thinking to themselves "this kid better be dead" while i'm on the ground shaking.

You should track them down and apologise for having a seizure mid-game.

Glad you're okay though, nobody wants to lose a Tyguy.

Which character were you playing as? If it was Bill they'll have been fine, AI Bill is awesome. AI Zoey, on the other hand, is stupid as hell.
