on my cheek, it was small and black.

Im scared.

Don't see a doctor, keep posting about it on an internet forum!

what type? or don't you know? If you start feeling sick I suggest you umm go see a doctor.

If you are concerned, I'd check with a doctor.

Since you live in Oregon though, I'd assume you're fine. The only really poisonous spider in the US is the black widow, and it stays away from northern climates. It's not too small either. More average-sized.

So, the worst I could expect would be if the spider was radioactive, and it thus transmitted it's spider-powers to you.

And if your cheek remains swollen and baby spiders explode out of it in a few days...see a doctor.

ewww

oh that's just a urban myth (but i would love to be proved wrong with evidence :-P )

also i wouldn't worry about it unless it was a black widow. I think i get bit by a spider while i'm sleeping once and a while in my apartment cause i have a small "lump like" think on my chest the next morning. But it goes away usually by the end of the day. Think it is just swollen.

What? What about the Brown Recluse/Fiddleback? Or the Brown Widow? Or the Hobo spider?

Nasty bites...

I've seen a black widow once, when I was on vacation in the outer banks, in North Carolina. Anyway, I grabbed one of the beach chairs and was walking out to the beach. I beat my chair a few times with my arm to get rid of sand, and a black spider fell out of it onto the ground. I examined it and it was black with red on it's abdomen. I looked at it for a few minutes and then stomped the shit out of it.

Good thing I hate sand or I probably would've gotten bitten

We get lot's of very big house spiders!! Not poisonous (to the extent to kill a person anyway) but they can be quite scary!

Good job.. you've just potentially blown your secret cover as spiderman. Now if we see someone flying about skyscrapers like tarzan we will all know who it is!

Look out Mr. Sprudo!

God, that poison is a bit weird. I hope I don't get bitten, I like living in Middlesbrough.

ROFL.

Spud, get down to your doc and have it checked out. If it nothing then you've only lost some time making the trip, if its bad then you can get it sorted.

Either way, get it checked out.

Hmm. *Checks profile* "Last Activity: Today 07:23 AM"
Oh dear...

lol spuderman

Good ol australia gets all sorts a shit.

Red Backs, Funnal Web, White tails. Deadly as (well the funnal web anyway) i get white tails in my house. a bite will make ya sick as anything.

i also get huntsmans. not dangerous. but they can get ****ing huge.

join ya index finger and your thumb to the opposing finger and thumb and thats the one that was crawling up the wall about a foot away from my head when i woke up the other morning. at first i saw a brown blur on the wall and when my eyes began to focus im like "yep, getting up now" :|

weird because they usally stay clear of humans and hide up in the corners of the roof.

wohhhaaaaaa **** i live in germany, we don't have any dangerous spiders here! omg i would get scared to death by such a big thing uhhhhh *shudder*

its fairly easy to get bitten by a brown recluse. they are reclusive after all. a relative of mine died from a bite about 50 years ago when he put on some overalls he got from the garage without checking them. this was back east.

If it was a radioactive spider, there's a good chance you'll turn into spiderman!

Don't forget the imported-but-thankfully-rare Fiddleback (AKA: The Brown Recluse), or the agressive Mouse Spider, or the Mopsus Mormon, the only dangerous jumping spider in Oz.

some guy on somethingawful forums made a thread about all the dangerous animals in australia, including all the poisonous spiders. needless to say, it scared many people away from ever setting foot there

That happens a lot... just ask Varg...

Spiders, scorpions, bigass centipedes, snakes, deadly jellyfish, stonefish, stingrays, blue-ringed octopi, stinging coral, agressive wasps, belligerent giant ants... and now we have fire ants and european wasps too...

[EDIT]: And I forgot to mention the Drop Bears, Tassie Devils, Kangaroos and Cassowaries...

Daddy Long Legs are lovely little spiders. Totally harmless to humans, and they actually eat dangerous spiders...

Lesson: Don't just mindlessly delete DLLs...
