i saw the new vids and iwas like, dude.......

I've been ON EDGE ever since the pre-load announcement was initially made. 3 delays later i'm still on edge!!

I need Valve to say the pre-load and game is indefinitely delayed so i can get off from being on edge. Being on edge is not fun.

Am i the only one that lost hype due to this video.. :-/

The delay didnt really bother me.. i want the box ^_^

Like hugs as well, they made you feel love and accept it.
:(

w00t! I got a present. Thank you ^_^
I don't get it.. but i like it.

The game looked pretty good, better then Doom3 or any other games that i've seen so far. But when will it come out! >.<

I think the heat distortion effect used in doom3 was the only dx9 effect that i can recall, IIRC... (also in the hell levels i thought it looked pretty nifty)

I think HL2 has HDR and (maybe?) heat distortion too but i'm not betting on it as dx9 effects... unless there's anothers i havn't heard or seen about yet

I thought the videos were pretty cool.. I thought the screams sounded kind of girly, but they still work I think. I also love how those oxygen barrel things explode when you throw them with the manipulator. And you can snatch up the health with it too. Awesome.

I don't why some of you are being asses to Ikerous, hes not doing anything wrong, just saying what he thinks. Hes not an obsessive fan boy.

I could really care less about the graphics in hl2, they aren't better then doom 3's except for facial animations. I was actually more hyped by the extended bink because i imagined playing through it and i realized how many different things i could do, even in that 2 minutes of footage. If this is a 25 hour game just imagine how much replay value it must have.

I loved the vid but I can see where people would be unimpressed by the graphics. Personally I'd go for art over technology which is why I always thought Grim Fandango is one of the greatest looking games (and why I find HL2's lighting, archtitecture and style more than makes up for any graphical sacrifices), however I can see how the shadows do not line up realistically and how some textures still look a little dull. Though I'm sure that textures and stuff could be sharper in the full game, I know that no system on earth would be able to play HL2 with real-time shadows and soft shadowing. I guess it's what you look for in the game that dictates whether you will be impressed or not.
I always take one thing into consideration and that is that something can only be really, truthfully bad if it is decided unanimously to be so. Otherwise it's just opinion.

Valve is known for making really creative stuff with an engine. They can do a lot with a little, because they have a real sense of "art" and not just tech. So I agree with you Styloid.
