A Washington, D.C., imam states explicitly on the website for his organization that he is part of a movement working toward replacement of the U.S. government with "the Islamic State of North America" by 2050
FREE SPEECH GONE TOO FAR!! Good luck to him.

On another note Western Sydney will be an Islamic nation by 2020, at the earliest....a seccession from the mainland is inevitable.

Why do they always want a theocratic Islamic state?

edit:

Establishing a full-time school "that raises children with a strong Islamic identity so they can, as future Islamic leaders, effectively meet and deal with the challenges of growing up in the West.

Are these people ****ing retarded? Maybe if they stopped saying "were going to turn your country Islamic." it wouldn't be such a ****ing challenge.

good god I loled. Islamic states should really learn to embrace democracy. Religion and Politics should never mix in my opinion.

"The paramount goal of the movement is the establishment of Islam as a complete way of life in America," the group declares. "This ultimate goal is predicated on the belief – shared by many Muslims worldwide – that Islam is fully capable of producing a working and just social, political, economic order."

So why say "In America", why not in their own goddamn countries. And why don't they notice that there are such countries like Malaysia and Saudi Arabia...

Oh noes. Some idiot wants religion to control governmnet. Quick, start taking away freedoms!

Let him say what he wants. Like anyone cares what some nutjob has to say about the government.

well at least we'd give Jebus a rest and insult Muhammad instead

"jesus ****ing ..."

I mean..

"muhammad ****ing allah on a popsicle stick and his merry band of goddamn jihadists"

anyways, radicals says crazy things, that's what they do, because they're ...ummm ..radical

so why is this news now? this group wants to kill most americans and rule the US ..do they get an article in worldnetdaily? noooooooooooo ..ok they have articles in other sites but still ...this imman seems tame in comparison

Well shit.

A religious leader wants his religion to prevail. I for one am shocked.

It's the same deal when the pope said that only Catholicism can get you to heaven, and everyone was shocked. What was he supposed to say, "it doesn't matter one bit to which religion you belong, they're all good"? It's the same thing here.

for every crazy imman spouting nonsense in north america there's easily a dozen christian right groups saying far worse ..anyways the point is that crazy talk is just that: crazy talk ..I mean really at this point would anyone be surprised if a religious leader (take your pick on which religion) says something crazy? it's what they do

I understand that. I'm just saying, who cares if a US Christian says crazy shit any more? At least a Muslim would be different, even if it's fundamentally just as retarded.

agreed however it's equivilent to a Raelian saying the same thing; they're such a minority that it carries absolutely no weight whatsoever ..the christian groups ..well they have significantly more influence

Well, the question of how powerful such groups are is different from how "newsworthy" they are, and I use that in quote marks for a reason. :p

Significantly too much influence you mean. :(

You are taking what he said out of context you Islamophobe. *insert lawsuit*

:)

So what, I want a socialist Europe by next week.

But this is just tid for tad semantics. Whether its some Islamic agenda or Christian agenda, we can all agree the radicals are batshit crazy.

Meh, this group won't ever be in a position of power. So I'm not worried.

it's all relative ..I mean would a Baptist Minister calling for the overthrow of the Saudi government to be replaced with one based on christian beliefs in the city of Mecca carry any sort of weight with anyone?

oh and it's "tit for tat"

Certainly, but thats not the point of the thread -- if theres something concerning you, bring it to our attention. Thus far, the thread is relatively harmless.

But the fact is, even if there are worst Christian preachers out there than the Muslim Imams, it's the Muslims who will use deadly force to achieve their purpose

Sure. Because christians have never called for the killing of gay people and the bombing of abortion clinics and actually carried it out on far more occasions than any violance muslims have carried out in our country.

Never heard of abortion clinic bombings? Or the inquisition?

Thought not.

Muslims today are far more violent than Christians are.

how can you possibly hope to quantify that in any meaningful way? bush is a christian, his lies are responsible for the deaths of 655,000 people as of 2006 ..well right there does that mean that christians are more violent than muslims? this entire argument is silly

Unless people commit acts of violence in the name of their faith it doesn't count.

The mass casualties Bush has produced is in large part due to the West's technological superiority. Given an equal playing field, I think Bush would pale heavily in comparison to the average Muslim aggressor. Besides, most deaths attributable to him are due to his incompetence and not due to his piousness. He has no explicit Christian agenda in the Middle East.

but that's not the point, the extremist is just that, Bush is mainstream ..what the hell would an extremist do with Bush's power? ..but this is getting more ridiculous by the minute

if allah had a thermo-nuclear device strapped to his forehead and an itchy trigger finger while Jesus had the Holy Atomic Shurikens of Merciful Incineration who would win in a game of celestial joust?

if he take advantage of the stupidity of the people then he can make it!

I severely doubt that the reason he invaded Iraq was because he thought God wanted him too. Don't believe everything Bush says.

sigh there's no arguing with you ..you're by far the most stubborn person I've met in this section ..I could say black and you'd say "no it's actually very dark blue"

whether or not he actually believes a leprechan in a flamming red sari embroidered with the teeth of young children told him to attack Iraq is immaterial ..the fact of the matter is that he said it

"god told me .."

and it's not the first nor last time:

It doesn't matter what he said, have you seen Fahrenheit 9/11. If he seriously was religious enough to believe that, he would have said it openly leading up to the war. There are far more likely reasons as to why they went into Iraq.

Exactly. His godly proclamations were just the shitty icing on a heaping cake of travesty.

once again; it doesnt matter if he believes it or not so long as the right people believe he means it ...just like how the 9/11 hijackers had western girlfriends and went to strip joints ..religion is a tool to used like any other

Yes, his lies are responsible.

Wassalam Alaikum ... mate.

It entirely matters whether he believes it or not. If he doesn't then Christianity is in no way responsible for the war in Iraq. The 9/11 hijackers most certainly believed in Islamic martyrdom and jihad. Islamic extremism is a political wing of Islam. Neo-conservatism is not a part of Christianity.
