That is why i didn't like it, it was a movie with an agenda, an agenda to turn war loving American's into protesters to stop the war. .

I dont agree, AN is the closest to a real depiction of the life of a soldier under duress we're libel to get out of hollywood ...btw AN was released after the war, so it was not about a political statement ...there's nothing in it that suggests it's anti-war

Still found it boring and long and drawn out.

We agree on something Stern. We Were Soldiers is great movie.
Sam Elliot's character was the best. :)

That'd be great if bush had a whole bunch of liberal rebel rock on his Ipod!

it's all about mood ...the scene where they first arrive at Kurtz's village is just insane ..or the scene with the puppy, or the attack on the village while Wagner's "flight of the valkyries" is playing ..or the tiger or the helicoptor with the playboy models ..it was just utter madness

That's the problem, it just looked like a bunch of hippies playing soldier and got bored, wandered off and start their own insane asylum. It just weirded me out completely and nothing like any other war movie.

but in some respects that was a part of the american experience in vietnam

AN is based on a book called Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad which was set in the 17 or 1800's. If I recall correctly, it involved a boat trip down an African river which played out similarly to AN. Just FYI.

Edit: Never mind.

American Idiot - Greenday

Now that would be hilarious.

AN was a good movie, but parts of it were overdone.
