Doesn't hurt anyone.
Is completely natural since humans will almost always do it unless told not too.
Also pretty natural considering some animals do it.
Its not unusual.
Its a good stress reliever.

Anyone who thinks its morally wrong is either highly religious and never bothered to question what they were taught, and/or they believe that being able to provide such pleasure for yourself is too good to not have some sort of consequence.
 
As long as you're not doing it like 15 times a day or in public places then it's alright
 
if you don't, you're gonna cream your shorts one lonely night anyway. May as well take care of it beforehand so you don't have to clean out any "protien stains" before you do your laundry.

I don't think there is a tangible difference in opinion based on gender (at least, nothing that could be derrived by the small sample size of females here)
