Atm I have 512mb of PC2100 :|...yes I know, not very fast ;)

But if I purchase another stick to make it 768mb, will that give me a performance boost ?, taking into account the memory isnt that fast.

Ive already spoke to SidewinderX about this, and he thinks its not worth the money, simply because nothing actually needs a wopping 512mb to run.

I just need more opinions :D, thankee!

no, the increase you will see would be very small vs the $. Does your MOBO support faster DDR?

Nope ;(...ah well

Although if you are thinking of upgrading your PC soon, it would be a great deal to buy some PC3200 now, that can run at PC2100, so you can use it and swap it over to your new machine later.

The increase in performance over 512MB really depends what else you have running in the background while you game. I generally have a lot of smaller programs running and there was actually a good boost going from 512MB to 1GB on my AXP 1700+ machine with PC2100.

RAM does wonders. I had 512 and went to 768. UT2004, Sims 2, and Rome: Total War stopped doing hard drive thrashing, increasing my overall fps by a ton and getting rid of annoying hangups.

Interesting, but there has to be a great improvment from 512 to 1G ?
