I wonder how many people have followed the link there? Many people quoted on that page smarter than anyone here, yet I am sure people would still like to argue about those quotes.

this is my favourite war quote of the last few years (even though it was coined over 50 years ago)

Göring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
But let's be serious, now. WWII was over 60 years ago. This couldn't possibly be true now.
