No offence, but is he actually famous in the states or something? You all seem to be acting like this is a tragedy (which of course it technically is, but so are most deaths, but they don't have individual threads).

Its the death of someone at a young age, regardless of his celeb profile, just like if you hear about the death of a child or someone young on the news you would feel bad about it.

No, people only care because the media is reporting on it. Anyones death is a national tragedy if the media puts it on national news.
 
Sucks for John Travolta, I like his movies, and I guess I like him to a degree because of that, hence I feel sorry for his loss, and yeah, its a shame.

Now to get on with my life.



I think the above about sums up most folks feelings.
 
I don't know John Travolta but his son has died so I feel sorry for him and want to pay my respects.

I don't know <hl2.net member here> but if his/her son had died I'd feel sorry for them and want to pay my respects.

They're both relatively anonymous people but they deserve the same level of respect. None of you would barge into a relative's death thread on here and say that you don't really care, would you?

Why's everyone acting like it's some big phenomenon? I guess the kid had problems staying alive. He had a sudden seizure... maybe it was caused by some flashing primary colours. I suppose having his son die will be this white man's burden. Travolta must want to shout. I doubt he can be cool at this stage.
