What exactly was wrong with what I just said? Do you deny that the Democratic Party openly seeks the support of those groups in the same manner that the Republican Party seeks the support of the religious right? Or that the Democratic Party has incentivized the political climate in such a manner to make voting for the Democratic Party more appealing for those groups just as the Republican Party does for the religious right?
Can you do me a favor and start a new topic. I will be happy to discuss this with you in a new topic, I promise.

I fail too see your point.

Just because I have elite in my nickname means that I hope to be respected?

Its just my nickname I made it up because snipers are trained to be elite marksmen, I never gave a thought that Elite would get me respect I just though it was cool,so shut up.

that went way over your head

Vote Kerry but if doing again another time vote LP~subquote(quoted the wrong post of his)
Oh god you're doing it all wrong.

Vote libertarians into public office and republicans into national. :[.

LP is never going to win national but they win local all the time.

LP dominating local affairs with Republican principled administration of national affairs also fits how I'd like things to work almost as perfect as can be with parties.

PS for the rest of you, www.lp.org ;]

I'm leaning more and more to left with my opinions, but I'm finding that Dean driving away some supporters with his rash comments might cost us. What we need is unity, we're not going to get that when we keep shoving away each other in favor for our own opinions and world vision.

He speaks the truth. I do think that the honest living remark was a little over the top but everything else he said is almost dead on. Other than the honest living thing can you tell me which remarks are driving you away from the left?

Also, why would a democratic spokesman drive you away from issues when you clearly agree with those issues as you just stated; doesn't make much sense to me.

If the corrupted democrats want too win back the country the best thing they can do is keep there big fat fly traps shut. Because when ever they get there hands on a microphone they spew garbage and shit out like no tommorrow and people have been beginning to realise that so they question the democratic partys leadership, values, and priorites.
Doesn't the opening post prove that it's the other way around.

So if you can have a mature discussion (unlike most Republicans here)...
lol the irony of it all....
Why can't you people at least give members of the other party some common respect?

No Limit, I realy hope you don't seriously think that the plan in that letter is a good idea...

I like the idea of the federated republic as a political system. How 'bout we let the Red states secede from the union like many of them did prior to the Civil War? See ya! Dear Confederates, would you like to have your dreams come true! You can go stew in your own juices in your very own country! Conservatives tired of big government? How 'bout no government? I suppose you could make your own up down there, but rememer that contradicting yourself got you into this mess in the first place, so be careful and have fun!

I don't get it, Minnesota is a blue state but we own about 95% of the mosquitos.

Awww! Ya'll have to take Louisiana, too! What will all you crazy northern/western liberals do in February without Mardi Gras in New Orleans?

Are you kidding, I think it's a wonderful idea. :dozey:

And I'm with you on the common respect.

I voted for Bush in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. Try to figure out what I am.

And to suggest that a Bush supporter would even consider what I'm proposing is a load of hogwash. No one in either party would have a clue how to create the wonderful society that I'm proposing.

I've just about had it with democracy, rights, etc. It's time for something else and I think the Singapore model is just what the United States needs.

it was a joke, can't you see! bush->dictator

uhhh... ever heard of the civil war? lol. Actually, this "blue states ditching the red states" thing already happened about 140 years ago. ;) Around the mid 1800's, almost everyone in the south voted democrat. Slavery, the main issue in the war, wasn't supported by the democratic party- it was just the southern way of life at the time. But almost as important as the slavery issue were tariffs and states rights. In a nutshell, the predominately northen whigs (precursors of the republicans) suported high tariffs and opossed states rights, while the southern democrats supported states rights and oposed tariffs. Washington favored the whigs, passed higher tariffs, got the soth ticked off, etc. You know what happened.
Anyway, my point is that when the blue states succeded from the red states, it led to the biggest war in our history. Over 620,000 people died in the civil war- more than any other American war combined. Now imagine that today, with America's huge population and modern weaponry.
*shudders*

That letter is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. No-one should take it seriously.
Just my 2 cents. :)

uh huh
it does get kind of annoying going to a college in the south, though, where a lot of people still act like they're part of the confederacy

ehh you folk up there (US) need socialism to straighten you up a little (bullet to the head for any would-be opposers)!

I'm ****ing IN. Sign me up for Blue-land, I'm there. Great article in 1st post, agreement 100%.

*stares at FictiousWill* see post #66 ;)

Hate to break it to ya guys, but this country needs the reublicans as much as it needs the democrats. Having a one party government is one step closer to a totalarian state (so they say ). Besides, the way it is now the two parties balance each other out pretty well; although IMO the media is a lot more democrat biased, and the only network that does try to be "fair" is the EVIL FOX NEWS NETWORK!!!! (ahhhhhh!)
Anyway, I say we all forget our political differences, go out, buy some beer, and go bowling! who's with me?

Wow...that's actually not a bad idea. I wouldn't mind becoming a new country.

Let's do it!

Actually, I'm neither republican nor democrat.

I'm human!

Republicans really do bring down this country, we need to kick them out. Lets give them their own country. Then say they are harboring terrorists and have WMDs and invade. Whos with me?

Way to show your true agenda, you moron. I don't hate liberals for being liberal. Not everybody is the same as everybody else. You have conservatives like me, with many liberal views, and liberals, with many conservative views on things.

It just shows how hostile and hateful you are of your own fellow citizens. Way to go, you hate monger.

Oh, and before you start saying, "Oh, have a sense of humor" I have a sense of humor, and trust me... you're not joking. And you want to know how I know this? Because your posts, everywhere I go are about how 'republicans suck' 'republicans are evil' 'republicans aren't people' When the fact is... they're just like your average democrat. Innocent of crimes, hardworking, and other respectable things.

Edit:
so says the guy named "sniperelite" ...ya that'll win you a lot of respect

Says the guy named CptStern, who hates everything military/police/and anything else involving Captains... and wouldn't hurt a fly, even if it raped or killed somebody  Stern in which way?

Edit2: Oh, and... sorry if my post is a bit harsh and hateful as well. Its late... and i'm incredibly grumpy.

Yes, I want an all out civil war to break out. And you are the one that called me an idiot? Ironic. Yes, you need to get a sense of humor. The only ones that didn't get the humor in the letter seem to be the right wing wackos on this board. Yes with statements like this I was really taking the letter seriously:

We spoke to God, and he agrees that this split will be beneficial
to almost everybody, and especially to us in the new country of
California. In fact, God is so excited about it, he's going to shift the whole
country at 4:30 pm EST this Friday. Therefore, please let everyone
know they need to be back in their states by then.
Anyway, we wish you all the best in the next four years and we
hope, really hope, you find those missing weapons of mass destruction.
Seriously. Soon.

Its not my fault you don't have a sense of humor. And as I told you in another thread; you don't know me and you aren't willing to get to know me; so just piss off.

Says the guy named CptStern, who hates everything military/police/and anything else involving Captains... and wouldn't hurt a fly, even if it raped or killed somebody Stern in which way?
And again that joke flew way over your head as Stern said to someone else.

What, his name is supposed to be a joke? Like i'm to know that. Sounds like a regular board name to me.

It was a simple joke. That's all Stern could really say to a dumb post like that.

Ohhh. You're talking about that one guys name <laughs> No, I got that. I thought you were talking about CptStern's name being some sort of inside joke. Damn, I need sleep, can't even understand what you're saying anymore. Later!

Isn't Stern's name from the movie Heavy Metal? I distintly remember some captain named Stern on trial before aliens invade the spaceship. I should watch that movie again, it's been so long. :)

Why can't people laugh at silly things anymore?
