it does get kind of annoying going to a college in the south, though, where a lot of people still act like they're part of the confederacy
Wait...we're not?

The fact that UC Berkeley is there is good enough for me.

GO BEARS!

Also, why would a democratic spokesman drive you away from issues when you clearly agree with those issues as you just stated; doesn't make much sense to me.

It drives me, and even the people at CNN bonko, when the Democratic National Committe Spokesperson/Chairman poke and prod at a religion that exists between 40-60% of Americans. The conservative party has a 80% majority of religious followers, while the Democratic has a 40%.

My brokers point? He does'nt need to poke fun of it -- the numbers it carries with it actually decided last years election. No need to underestimate that now.

Can you give me an example of where Dean has any problem with religion? What he said was dead on; Republicans consist of white christians. Check all your elected offices; you don't have a single republican that is black in the senate nor the house.

non elected, but his broad generalization was pretty offensive, i mean, i may be white, but hell if i'm a christian, and there ARE black republicans
if you believe they're all white christians you are ignorant

When did Dean say they were all like that. Here are his comments:

[talking about republicans] they are a pretty monolithic party ... it's pretty much a white, Christian party

When you do not have a single elected official in national government that is black do you not think he is right? I believe Democrats have around 40 blacks in the house. You guys are pretty much all white christians. Thats like a democrat being offended when someone says "Democrats are pretty much the party of strict gun control". No not all democrats are for strict gun control but most are. Again, I would like someone to explain how speaking the truth is offensive?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if more and more religious people start turning away from the Democratic side. It seems there is more and more of a voice of 'religious abolishment' movement coming from many people within the party. Civil liberties my arse. Some day with some of ya, it'll be 'freedom of anything but the practice of religion'.

the way you worded your response sounded like you were saying we're all white christians, i guess it was poor wording on your part, and not knowing the true make-up of the republican party I can't make such a generalization, but i do know black republicans, and i know non-chrsitian republicans, but i'm not one to generalize (at least not seriously, only if i'm making a joke)

seriously, though they certainly like to let muslims practice their religion, but christianity is oh so bad

But again it is an accurate generalization. You might not like it but it is true.

Red states = too weak to think for themselves
Blue states = too stupid to think for themselves

I hate you all.

Do you have any examples of democrats trying to limit religious freedom? I'm all ears.

As far as I know you guys are the ones trying to shove religion down our throats. Democrats simply believe religion is seperate from politics; pretty rational in my opinion. Can you tell me what God has to do with politics? Can you tell me why it is right for our leader to call the war on terror a crusade?

There aren't any policies 'yet' of the democratic party as a whole trying to limit religious freedom. I didn't say anything along those lines. I said the democratic liberals are starting to grow more and more loudly in their proclamation that religion should be abolished. Reading these boards is just one tiny little microscopic fraction of the whole... with proof to that fact.

I personally don't shove religion down anybodies throats... so I don't see why those people want me to stop practicing it.

God damn, I wish I was dictator of America. This country would kick even more ass. :) (Not physical ass, just it would be cooler in general.) I don't want to kill nobody... cept those god damned Dutch...

(That was a joke.)

Can you find me one post where any liberal claims that religion should be abolished? Even on the most liberal web site on the net; http://democraticunderground.com I haven't seen anyone say that.

LOL. Man... have you been READING these forums? <snickers> There's tons of people on here saying how religion should be done away with, and how it causes all the world's problems(which is bull, BTW. Human nature causes it).

If there is tons I'm sure you will have no problem finding an example. Help me out here.

Religion is a tool for control. But lets not get into that.

Do the rest of your searching. I don't have the time. And even if you can't find any... you can find threads that are rife with people saying religious people are freaks.

And all those people are generally from the democratic party. Don't you think yourself a little naieve to not believe that there is a sort of 'anti-religion' movement coming out from the democratic party? Just open your ears, and hear the hatred.

Start a thread on whether or not religion should be abolished, on any number of online forums, including this one. You'd be surprised at the results. Many people hate religious people these days, and they stem from the wrong reasons. They're hating a majority, because of a minority.

i personally dont hate religion, although i currently dont believe in any major one.. i kind of have my own. i believe what i want, which i think people should do. I just dont like the fact that religion is being mixed up with gov't more and more... it's getting quite absurd. And the people who are doing it are giving a bad name to the religious people who aren't totally crazy :/

I don't think religion should be in politics either. Religion should be between a man and god, not a man and a corporate church.

Either make an argument with facts, or get out of the section.

uhuh... you see... where I said "use facts" you've just gone and used the word "dumb" instead.

Are you planning to make some sort of real argument or are you just going to keep on with the personal attacks until you get banned?

Well he is right to a point.

You generalize and stereotype one side then that makes you no better.

It's not his attempted argument that I have a problem with. I meant stuff more like this:

However, thats prodding -- it usually forbodes the flogging that soon follows the accusations. Its correct -- CNN verified that; but then it also made note from other Democratic followers, did'nt appreciate the point out especially considering his past burps.

C'mon people, I'm a Bush supporter, and I thought that was hilarious. You people need to chill out.

But noone can beat the good ol boys. I can imagine it now, a column of Hummers driving down the street, woods on both sides, then !Snap! A bear trap pops the lead hummers tire. When the soldiers get out to check it, they get ambushed by hooligans in the back with double-barreled shotguns! (P.S. Fort Rucker, a ranger training camp, and eglin AFB are in the red state.)

I agree with this. If the right simply formed our own country and the left had theirs it would solve a lot of problems. First off the right would be incredibly wealthy, especially since we would simply invade the tree huggers and force them to work like slaves for us. Our economy would boom while all the lefties cry about injustices we can simply hit them with a butt end of a gun and tell them to get back to work or its to the salt mines.

Not only that but the world would be calmer without the left making accusations left and right and complaining about this and that. For once America as a whole would be able to think and get somewhere and actually progress instead of listen to the left complain about how horrible the world is and provide no solution.

BTW blink... this is no better really, it adds nothing and makes no point or argument but simply harasses the original poster. Just thought I would bring that to your attention.

*Attention* No political Zealots allowed in this thread. This is supposed to be humerous. *Thank You*

i wouldnt be surprised if california was its own country one day.. its richer than italy

And they have Sequioas. (Probably not spelled right.) I just got done with a 2 week vacation over there, and those were the things that stuck in my mind about California. That, and its full of gay people. Living right next to an air force base, and an Army Ranger camp, I think people can see why I don't like gay people. :)
