It's been rumored that Bruce Willis would be playing the role of Kane for a couple of months now. Several sites are now confirming that he is on board and he seems to be praising the script.

The producer of the Hitman movie is involved in it. I liked Hitman even though it wasn't really a faithful adaptation of the games. It was a solid action movie in the end.
As long as they get another good actor for Lynch's role and a decent director, this could be a fun action movie. Billy Bob Thornton may get the role.
Personally, i'd hire Kevin Gage (the bad guy from Heat) or Ted Levine ("It puts the lotion on its skin...") for the role.

Sounds good, but what I really want is another Kane & Lynch game.

If Jeff Gerstmann becomes a film critic, he's ****ed.

i never even played this game...which means if they're making a movie i should probably stay away from both

A movie adaptation of an awful game?
What the ****.

Yes that's never been done before.

Except Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Doom, BloodRayne, Postal, Silent hill, Dead or Alive, Hitman, FarCry, and Street Fighter.

But none of those were really bad games except for maybe Postal.

Although, I can give Kane & Lynch some credit for having a pretty decent story which would probably work better in a movie rather than in a video game.

Do you know what awful means?

Oh, and Mortal Kombat ended up being a very entertaining movie which I am glad exists, so maybe 'awful game to movie' is the only transition that works.

The only redeeming thing about the game was the plot and the characters, even though it wasn't very original. The gameplay and technical aspects of the game were just horrible.

If they hire Jesper Kyd to score the movie too, i would definitely go see it.

You should get a job as a games reviewer. Not because your opinion has much worth (OOF), but rather because you will have to review some really genuinely bad games, and it will teach you the true meaning of the word "awful".

That's rather a shame, as I don't think much of myself.

Perhaps he means you should die in a fire and claim on the life insurance?

Or is petrol just too expensive at the moment?
Both. I just can't seem to stump up for that initial investment. And in any case nobody is hiring anybody to die in a fire right now, unless they already have experience dying in a fire.

I actually quite liked Kane & Lynch. I got a fair way into the South American part, but never finished it (though it's on my to do list) however I thought the plot was ok in an action movie kind of way and there were some good levels in it. I think Gerstmann overreacted to it because the principal characters are indeed a pair of unapologetic psychopaths, albeit Kane does posses a shred of humanity in his original review and that the game was more a 7/10 than a 6/10. Good soundtrack as well.

Willis makes sense as Kane and I could see Billy Bob as Lynch which would be a bit of a reunion for them as they starred together in Bandits back in 2001 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219965/).
