lol you're ok, there is a game called killswitch btw too, was wondering what you were on about? :thumbs:Lemonking said:lolz sry
i didnt see 1 slowdown in the explosions, thats why so many think its prerendered as there was no slowdown with all those particles effects, did you see the same movie?ray_MAN said:That's actually pretty shoddy. There were major slowdowns in explosions. The faces are just pretty. (HL2 had pretty faces.) And the controls seemed so clunky. I was having trouble seeing somethings because it was so gray.

killswitch is a military 3rd person shooter on pc, ps2 and xbox, it was pretty shoddy tbh, it had some game gimmick about keeping enemies pinned down before moving from cover or something, it was shite tbh.Lemonking said:oh ok whats Killswitch about.....?
I think its this Black white jump arounf game aont it?
on topic
did they say anything about a relaese date?
JiMmEh said:Hmm I downloaded the higher res one and there's no slowdown at all. I think the servers busy now though
It's a shame though if they aren't the real graphics, hopefully they'll come close
Dalamari said:If that is in-game, the Xbox 360 can go f**k itself
it made me do a sechs-wee in my pants.........or not. :OGorgon said:I just finished watching the 640Res vid of KillZone..............

This video of Killzone...Brilliant!! :E
Even if it's pre-rendered, it's still awe-inspiring to look at.
Murray_H said:Where is the high res version of the killzone video?
alan8325 said:I'm guessing the actual game engine rendered the graphics and particle effects, and performed physics calculations for the debris and ragdolls, but each event you saw was heavily choreographed.
Probably all the animations, conversations, soldier behavior, locations of units, timing of weapon fireing and events, and camera views were all carefully created and placed specifically for this demo. In other words, it was an extremely scripted event in-engine.
I doubt any of those unit behaviors, such as the enemy soldier grabbing the railing and the soldiers in the other airship waving and giving thumbs-up after someone tells them to move away are behaviors that are being done dynamically. I don't doubt that the graphics and special effects are real though.
An indication that the effects, such as the destruction of airships seems to be real is that the wreckage of one just disappears all of a sudden, which would make sense to preserve frame rate. Observe the destroyed airship right behind the one that you are on, appearing breifly at approximately 47 seconds into the video. After getting off your airship, you then look back again at 52 seconds and the crater is still there, but the wreckage is gone. I don't see why this would be done in a pre-rendered scene that is not in-engine.

It was in first person!
HA!So it's not prerendered.
Would this mean that the demo is NOT using the game engine, or just that all events are choreographed, like in a movie scene, but could be made with the game engine?Pi Mu Rho said:It's prerendered. No debate required.

Correct-o mr.neutrino.Failed sarcasm..Neutrino said:He was joking.
Yeah, this would make sense. I don't see the point in using tools that have nothing to do with the game engine to make the scene in the demo. Some have compared it to the Medal-of-Honor TV commercial that uses a pre-rendered scene that clearly isn't in-engine, but the point of this was simply to promote the game and not necessarily demonstrate anything. I would think the point of the Killzone2 demo is to demonstrate some engine capabilities on the PS3.Pi Mu Rho said:Actually, it could very well have been using the game engine, but not recorded in realtime.
It's a well-known "trick" - you record your demo at low res, low detail, making sure it's all neatly choreographed. Then you play it back at ultra-high resolution, ultra-high detail, outputting each frame to disk along with the audio. Combine the two into an AVI/MPG/Whatever at 30fps, and bingo! Engine-powered demo!

PS3 forever !! (atleast untill there is a ps4)
but possible or something right like that link you posted said? i thought you said it was ingame.*confused*Murray_H said:It is pre-rendered
