this is the thread for the upcoming linkin park album. does anyone know the name of the 1st single to be released?
 
I think it's What I've Done, which was already released...
 
Its not out till may 14th or something...but there are other ways of getting it early..
 
Ahhh heavy-handed moralising from quite possibly the worst bands around at the moment.

But nah, LP are one of those bands i dont listen to, but if one of their famous songs comes on (like in an iTunes shuffle or something) i will listen to it. Numb was pretty good, and JayZ just made it a COOL song that still gets played in clubs and stuff.

Its one of those albums ill download through alternative methods rather than actually purchase, OR will borrow it, listen to it and see if i like it first.
 
Badger likes Bowie, so he automatically has good taste in music.

LP seem amazing when you havn't heard classic rock or recent indie music.
 
Well, sadly, the only album I enjoy of LP is their first..the rest gets on my nerves. Sucks, because the have great potential imo.
 
Used to listen to 'em, now the only thing I can stand is Numb/Encore. JAY ZIZZLE IN THE HIZZLE!

LP is pretty bad. I loooooved their album Hybrid Theory when I was younger though. Like... 11. Seriously, it was right after it was released and before they were even heard of on MTV2, much less a popular band on MTV, so I try to justify it that way... but I really can't stand them now. It's just really hyperproduced music. It sounds alright (the earlier stuff) but it feels like plastic.

Heh, they are headlining Download this year, on the Saturday... may sit on the hill and watch them get bottled, and for a bit of nostalgia :D
 
They were part of the whole shit-metal stage with Papa Roach and that guy that did the MI:2 theme tune. Then SOAD continued that on a year later.
 
If it weren't for Linkin Park, I probably wouldn't be nearly as into music as I am today, ironically.
 
LP is annoyingly bad. The music aspect isn't so bad, but, when I think ABOUT the music, I can't listen to it. It's so cheap -- put in a few lines of how the world is bad and all of the pain inside, and you appeal to 75% of the adolescent population.
 
Linkin Park was great back when I was 13 or so and wore black dress pants every day


Basically what I was saying is that it's shit music

I read somewhere that they "ditched their nu-metal edge" or some sort. It goes out of style and they instantly change. Meh, not really a fan.
 
Chester's singing and screaming annoys the hell out of me.
 
I watched this documentry segment about Linkin Park a while ago and they were talking about how they've turned their music into a business. That just sums them up I think.

Klaxons are ace - sound all of their own and AMAZING live. Linkin Park are commercial, overproduced (as mentioned previously) and one of those bands I used to like age 13 when I had no clue about music..

They're a fine example of a polished turd. All shiny and slick, but nonetheless, still a turd.

In all fairness, the Klaxons are the eptimone of commercial these days. :p Not to that say that's a reason to like/dislike them, as I'm quite enjoying the Myths of the Near Future album. In all honesty, though, they are just a tamer version of !!! who are far superior at this kind of thing.

I personally find !!! a bit hit&miss but they are ace at that space-funk-disco-sound.

I dunno, the epitome of commercial is more The Fratellis, but I do see what you mean ... I had the luck of seeing them really really early on, just after the first release of Gravity's Rainbow.. it was immense, best gig I've ever seen.

I'm quite enjoying Battles at the moment, never really bothered with them before.. and the sort of general glitchy french house stuff from Ed Banger records.

Linkin Park are still toss. Rap metal is generally toss as well :)

Well, no celeb HONESTLY can say s/he is in it to entertain people. I know the only reason I'd ever do anything like that would be for the money. But then I'm greedy. :smoking:
