Linkin Park

Yeah, that's what she said, in the photolab darkroom. Except she used my name, instead of que.

*This opinion is endorsed by retarded "true rock" fanboys everywhere*

On a side note, the What I've Done video is pretty awesome..

am i the only one that gets any enjoyment out of Meteora? sure, it's not my favorite cd. . it's actually pretty meh. But there's some pretty good stuff on it imo (session, Hit The Floor)

It's INCREDIBLY simplistic, overdone and outright laughable. 'Ah the kids will like this, let's flash images of starving people, oil wells and shots from We Were Soldiers to make a laboured point' - it's a heartless cash in on human suffering, especially when it has little-to-no relation to the song, or much general cohesion. See 'Under Pressure' by Queen & David Bowie for a political video done well and effectively.
I agree with everything said here.

But I still like the parts where it spins around the drumkit :D

Just listened to the song.

Shades of NIN in the intro/piano (esp. Something I Can Never Have), shades of U2 in the video, shades of genericness in the vocals and instrumentals, shades of god-damn-where-is-the-electronica-and-the-rapping-why-does-this-suck-so-much-more-than-the-old-LP in all of it.

so is it basically:

CRAAAWWLLLING INNN MY SKINNNNNN
AMEEEEERRRRIIICCCA WILLLL NOT HEEEEEAAAALLLL?

I like breaking the habit, that and numb is the only one i like

wow stardogchamp, thats the last time i post in music forum. :x

Music is great as always, the lyrics don't appeal to me anymore though.

Linkin Park is the reason I'm an atheist. No god could ever allow a band like them to exist.

I think they are ok, not super mega ultra great, but good. What don't you like?

Chester Bennington will write an angry poem and then slam the door three times on the way to his bedroom. Don't mess.

If I ruled the world, they'd be put on the blacklist.

(I wake up to them every morning, because some idiot thinks it's good to here likin park at 6am, right before roll call. So that adds ++ point to hate.)

Remus you're avator is awesome.

I'm amazed that the linkin park thread is now over 8 pages but when someones starts a thread on Modest mouse it gets like 2 replies.

Not enough people know of them to say 8 pages worth of ''LOL DEY SUK'' comments. :p

The Moon and Antarctica my friend...educate yourself.:)

Oh, but I like Modest Mouse. :p This thread is made up of people disliking LP (quite impressive a thread of such blatent negativity has got so far, much like that NIN thread that Tcfrom posted actually...), you wouldn't get either for a Modest Mouse thread, give or take the odd one or two.

I don't like NIN either. Modest Mouse is ok, from their two hits or whatever that I've heard.

oh ic lol, i didn't read 99 percent of the thread:)

You should listen to their albums, their hits are for the masses....their albums are for teh win!!!

Yep, really like Modest Mouse's new one especially.

BUT, that's not why I'm in this thread! And it's not to trash talk a band like they came over to my house, slapped me, and said dirty things on the way out either!

I downloaded Linkin Park's new one a few days ago and have listened to it a fair bit. I'll be buying it when it comes out, so it's at least that good! Doing away with the turntable sounds and stuff doesn't seem to hurt 'em, and I like most of their new stuff. The overall pacing seems a bit slow... but some at least build to something a bit more upbeat... and there's still 4 good rock-outs on it (Given Up, Bleed it Out, What I've Done, and No More Sorrow). The two that don't really click with me are Valentine's Day and In Between... I'd trade those two for a good instrumental track and another with some kick. The ones that build nicely I think are In Pieces and The Little Things Give You Away. Leave Out All Rest and Shadow Of The Day are more downbeat but still very listenable. Not counting the intro, that leaves Hands Held High, one of the two songs that has some rappin' to it (Bleed it Out being the other), which is catchy but the anti-war message kind of bogs it down... nothing against the message, but it does seem a little tired, like I've heard this message over and over before.

I'm not a music snob by any means, but there's my take on it. :p And like a lot of you it seems, Linkin Park was sort of my 'gateway' band too... I had been sort of into music before, but it was hearing 'In The End' on the radio that seemed to open the floodgates.

Listened.

Seems to me like they ditched the nu-metal and went for the generic rock. Not impressed, but then I wasn't expecting much after hearing What I've Done.

I've got nothing against the 'Park, but they still don't seem to be trying very hard to push the envelope in any way, and seem content to instead stay on familiar ground. But that goes for so very bands around now, and if that's what it takes to be popular... =/

Still, like em or loathe em, you gotta admit Chester can ****in' scream.

PUT ME OUTTA MY ****ING MI-SE-REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!!

Like, dayumn. I'd hate to be around when he throws an emo hissy fit (lol bandwagon).

oh well, this thread actually survived..anyway, nobody answered one of my questions!! is there any other good song other than what iv'e done you can tell me about

Linkin Park don't really have what you could call "good songs". If you like one or a few of them, you're pretty much bound to like all but 1 or 2. They're consistent, if nothing else.
