Toodle-pipski Shuzer, though I may be seeing you again rather soon (just not here)...
I'll admit that the forums are a little dull at the moment, but I'm mostly with Farrow on this stuff.
Kinda reminds me of some old men I know.
Everyone was new at some point. Can't have established members without newbies. I don't suppose anyone remembers my first few weeks here, when I used to end every post with "Seeya!" and had about ten smilies in there as well? Everyone starts out crap... mostly... sorta...
Maybe newbs can't win. I mean, they make a thread on a topic that's been discussed here before, and they get flamed or talked down to by some of the regulars for it. Yet the newb who posted the thread's never been able to discuss the topic before, on account of only just having joined up. And if they ressurrect an old thread about it, they tend to get the old "Thread Necro" remark...
Idiots may come in, but it seems to me that if we were to block people out or something to stop that, we'd also be stopping the really cool people who join up.
Oh, well... heh... wouldn't it be funny if some forums got into the situation where the members were leaving, complaining about the forums going down the tube, and it turned out that the forums were going down the tube because the complainers were leaving?
"Holllld the liiiinnne! Hoolllld the lllliiiiine!"
Heheh... :|
