I'm still using this setup (the window is rolled up and I brought up the menu for the shot): Desktop

Check your compression setting in whatever image editing program you use.
 
Here's my current, and most often used desktop.

Edit: dont be fooled, i am actually using WinXP, not 98/95 etc

I've fixed it to some degree, but I don't know how to make those damn taskbar icons smaller.

And this UXTheme visual style thing doesn't seem to be quite working the way it's supposed to, but at least it looks slight neater now.

Was actually a joke, I was focusing on something insignificant rather than the porn tabs. Bah! :p

I hear what you're saying, but sometimes the sight of a beautiful woman partially dressed in lovely clothing is more appealing than porn... sometimes

Anyway, most people have women on their desktops just cos they're a sight for sore eyes. Why view a big black screen (like my desktop) or etc when you can view a pretty woman. i love women. am sure most people here do. i'd have a gorgeous lady on my desktop too if i wasnt using a family pc.
