In ME2 they ****ing better let me be able to make a dude with a ****ing hobo-beard.
My thoughts exactly.

Here is the latest design for my ME2 character:

So why kill him off at all, if no one would recognize him regardless?

Probably for Cerberus. While none of the normal everyday criminals of Omega would recognize Shepard, Cerberus would spot him pretty quickly and probably take him out. Saying he's dead and then sending him to Omega would allow him to go undercover there without him dying within 10 minutes of docking there.

Shepard took out the ****ING SOVEREIGN.

How exactly would the Cerberus pose a challenge to him?

Shepard took out the sovereign with the help of a **** ton of people.

In the terminus systems Shepard is pretty much completely on his own, and if the latest book is anything to go by, if Cerberus wants you dead then you're p. much ****ed.

The exception of course being one of the characters from the novel, but only because he was a Cerberus operative himself and knew how they operated.

Edit: Although I forgot that the leader of Cerberus actually acknowledges Shepard for putting humanity in a rather advantageous spot since the council pretty much owes humanity a huge one, so I don't think he'd really want Shepard dead, but would rather actually try and use him. This would make alot more sense then because you could say that the alliance for whatever reason wants Shepard to go to omega and actually join Cerberus as an undercover job.

Everyone's freaking out about whether we'll play as Shepherd or not. I still think we'll play as Shepherd-Geth. Just think about all the cool accessories we could add to make him look like our own, unique character, such as gears, lights, and even hobo beards!.

Why were you expecting a PS3 version? Mass Effect is only on the PC and 360 and ME2 continues directly after it. Having ME2 on the PS3 makes no sense unless they port the original aswell. It's very unlikely that it will ever come to the PS3 as agreements were made before EA bought Bioware preventing Mass Effect going to the PS3.
Exactly, I know for a fact Microsoft signed an agreement with Bioware when they were independent to make Mass Effect exclusive to 'Microsoft' platforms, i.e. PC and 360, and I doubt this agreement was nullified just because EA bought Bioware, and thus the IP.

Damn. I thought my Boromir Assface Shephard with a ginger freddie mercury 'stash was invincible.

Anyway, one of the best games I've ever played. I don't care that the RPG elements were abit flossy and the sidequests sucked, the design, characters, the ****ing universe you play in was so damn immersive, it was like a wet sci-fi dream come true. I appreciate the game far more for what attempted to do than what it actually accomplished, it really gave you the feeling of being humanity's hero in an expansive universe where humans don't really matter. The story, especially towards the end, was the fudgin' shit as well.

I agree, the way the story progressed and its immersion qualities were top notch, the action wasn't AMAZING but I still enjoyed it and had some memorable firefights. The character's diversity was excellent, I always wanted to talk to everyone because I knew everyone had an interesting story to tell. The only let down was the exploration factor, every uncharted planet was exactly the same, a big rock of <insert primary color here> with a few random pieces of crap scattered about and base of exactly the same structure as the last but with different enemies. Its like 90% of the developers died when they got to that part of the game. Hope they improve drastically on that aspect come the next game.

That's the bar from the first game, is it not? Only I recall that had a blue theme to it, not red.

Cool anyway.

Over concept art?

Yes, why not?

The Mass Effect disc was at 100% capacity when it was finished so, unless the spanned onto multiple discs, you were lucky to get such planetary exploration at all. They understand that it was the worst part of the first game and they've mentioned that they're doing something about it in 2. I'm personally hankering for multiple discs.

Looks like Chora's Den, yes, but a lot larger. It probably is intended to be it though.

Yeah but we hoped considering that they've dodged round the platforms for ages now always saying next gen platforms never being specific for quite some time until now.

I just hope it comes on the PC at the same time as the 360 version. I don't want to have to wait half a year, and have the story ruined for me before i get it.

In the first game, no matter what, do you always have at least one teammate permanently die?

Because in mine (just beat it) Wrex died, and so did the human male.

After that I used Garrus in almost all of my missions.

Tali Zorah was my favorite for a while, but she became extremely annoying.

Yeah you can save wrex either through a couple of different ways, the easiest being to just make sure your charisma/intimidation is p. high by that point in the game and you'll save his ass.

It was all about Ashley and Garrus, we were an unbeatable team.

Ashley scares me, I usually went with Garrus and either Kaidan or Wrex.

Ashley was so damn hot! Garrus was great once you got him good armor and a instant kill sniper rifle. Kaidan was good.. Think I enjoyed Wrex the most. When he killed that guy in the first mission I was pretty awestruck. It's those kinds of things that games need more of, far reaching results from making one simple choice.

I recommend playing through the game with the same character, it gets really fun when you reach the higher levels you can't easily reach on one playthrough.

I preferred Kaidan, he was by far the most stable person on board. Even Ashley had issues with xenophobia.

Agreed on that, I didn't use anyone else at all the first time I played through it. Even on my second playthrough I tried using other people and always ended up going back to the good ol' Ashley/Garrus combo. Kaidan seemed like a pretty solid guy, but his engineer/biotic combo just wasn't doing it for me.

Generally though, I loved Mass Effect. The story was decent and I just really enjoyed the universe Bioware created. All I want from the second game is for them to flesh it out a lot more, maybe put in at least 3-4 citadel-like cities to explore, as well as much more varied and worthwhile exploration. There were like three different types of building on every damn planet, so it grew tiresome pretty damn quickly.

Mass Effect was pretty meh after the main quest was over with, but man, what a main quest it was. Everything inside of that 14/15 hours of central gameplay was jaw-dropping. I think I might need to pick it up again sometime this month.

I went garrus and Liara. With liara doing all her super biotic shit enemies were usually all floating around the room before they had a chance to do SHIT

Personally I had more fun with KOTOR than with Mass Effect, but that might have been because of OMG LASER SWORDS

Meh, Kaidan is better.

On the other hand, I didn't really want my kid incubator to get hurt.

I went with Tali and Liara. Tali to do all the hacking stuff and Liara for the Biotics.
Just out of curiosity who did you guy's choose to die?
I left Kaidan behind cause he had a crush on my femshep, and kept bitching cause i didn't like him back..

I went with Kaidan on my second play through and yeah I know he went through alot and in constant pain but he became kind of whiny after a while.

"SHEPHARD JUST LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DARK PAST SHEPHARD. SHEPHHAAAARDDD"

He never did that to me, you must've struck the gay string in him.

I went with Garrus and Wrex on both of my playthroughs so far. Am planning on loading it up again some time this week with Bring Down the Sky as well so will try some different allies.

I guess constant pain makes you stable. And him not being a speciesist made him abit weird. But he was good in combat. It was so satisfying to send him to his death.

"SHEPHARD JUST LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DARK PAST SHEPHARD. SHEPHHAAAARDDD"

lol yess!!

I hope they'll add the subtext;
Mass Effect 2: We made being evil even more fun, now we're doing it again!

Yes, why not?

Something like the final game looking nothing like the art? Maybe? /shrug.

Renegade was Evil?

I beg to differ.

You had the option of being either a pussy or a complete twat. The middle ground wasn't any good either. The conversations are nice and all it just all fell down whenever you had to make a choice. I guess I'm spoilt by digital novels.

He never said it would or wouldn't. It's still a fresh piece of content that relates to the game so if he wants to enjoy what the dev team are giving to him then let him. Not to mention he might just, you know, quite like the art? Maybe? /shrug.

Concept art is great I just don't see the point in getting worked up about it. Maybe when some actual game content is shown to the public then yeah, but otherwise you could spend the day on any artist site creaming your pants.
