Metal Gear Solid 4 2008 Theatrical Trailer

Sweet, can't wait, although I'm not mega-hyped because I know Kojima is partially full of shit, I know it'll still be a good game.:D

Technically it isn't new afaik, we've seen eastern european setting in the battle between Raiden and Vamp afaik..

Also, I think David Hayter is trying a bit too hard trying to sound 'Old', his voiceovers in the trailer felt very forced to me.
 
"Theatrical" trailer? That's a bit over the top, no?

Although I have to admit it does look rather good.

As soon as I read theatrical I knew it was going to have that stupid dramatic voice commentary over the top. Seriously... cringe worthy. In fact, a lot of the voices/lines were funny.

Looking good, though.
 
I almost cried watching that! I seriously havent been hyped and wanting a game this much since Half-Life 2.

I could have cared less for gta4. I got it expecting to hate it but it turned out to be a great game. MGS4 is going to be the coming of GOD. GTA4 doesnt have shit on it.

Seriously the E3 trailer they showed looked ridiculous IMO.
 
Truly epic trailer, for a first time we see how world changed into military madness on global scale. And Liquid is awesome just like in MGS.

That was an incredibly lame and retarded trailer. The whole thing was OTT. The actual footage was cool, though.

"Activate it!" was quite awesome.

Wow. That trailer combined with everything anyone who has seen the game has said make me anticipate this more than anything in recent memory. This really will be quite something.
 
I would get a PS3 just to play it, this one game, but I think ill wait for the inevitable 360 release in a year or so. Always loved the MGS games, love all that sneaking around. Its like...Commandos in third person.

Well, now I've seen photos from making of MGS4 and reference for that city was Prague. So Central Europe, home, sweet home. :thumbs:

I just bought a PS3 for GTA4. I haven't played, or even seen for that matter, a single Metal Gear title since the very first one for the very first Nintendo.

Would jumping right into this one be a stupid idea?

Seconded. Get MGS 1, 2, 3 before getting this. You will not regret it and you will definitely want to see how everything got to this point. It's an incredibly epic (if exceedingly weird) story.

You will have to play MGS 1 2 and 3 before this. No question about it. Otherwise you will not have a clue as to what is going on.
 
I played the previous MGS games and still have no clue what's going on :)

There must be some faq around that explains the story for new comers to the series.
 
The DVD you get with your pre-order helps get the story a little straighter...still pretty confusing though.
 
I picked up the MGS3 strat guide for pretty cheap (long after I'd played and finished the game :p) and it had - or has - a pretty excellent guide to the storyline.

Still, the ingame narrative is absolutely shit, so it's no surprise nobody knows what's going on.
 
Yeah man, they should do what valve does and leave the story out, because you know, we don't want to
be spoon fed. And it shows in how much we know about the hl universe.
 
those last screenshots posted are about some real objects that are put in the game,cuz you even can have a ipod as a object to listen to music anytime you want it seems

not liking that very much unless it was put whit a purpose rather that just advertising

the easiest way to understand the storyline is: everything is a plan made by someone else,like a constant backstabing game
