On a very, very unrelated note I have discovered what happens to two-week-old coffee if you don't wash it out: it turns into half-solidified foam!!! :x I didn't take pics because I couldn't look at it for more than 2 seconds without nearly throwing up, but take my word for it: it is DISGUSTING!!!! I hope I never see anything like that again!! :x :x :x

I left some in a sealed thermos for 3 months. It was like tar, but if you moved it, the skin it had formed, complete with hair, tore apart and green/black/brown milky gunk assailed you.
