The title says it all, which class and why.

For me, either the demoman or the engineer. Demomen can spam a hallway with grenades, making it difficult to get pass. The engineer is tougher than he seems, making these uber powerfull turrets, then having a few of em clumped behind the turret constantly repairing it.

That said, there is great balance between all the classes, just personally those are the most challenging for me to deal with.

Spies can be very annoying depending on how many the other team has. But for the most part the classes seem to be balanced to me.

Engineers are incredibly tough to take down when they've got a turret up... I think "most annoying" goes to Demoman, though. I've seen hallways lined with sticky grenades, totally impassable without killing the guy who may well be hiding inacessibly around the corner.

I must be fighting some really terrible demomen, I rarely have trouble with them.

So far Ive only been playing air-guitar with that axe on about twenty servers.

Taunts are awesome :D

I find the turrets most annoying - more than a few times they've killed me in mid air while I was only in view for a split second. They have aimbots!

A little nerf would be nice.

Spy if you ask me.
Especially when playing as Engineer.

The spies definitely. Even though I frequently play as spy, going into the battlements at 2fort and knifing every sniper. The second place would probably be the engineer..because they can put down sentry guns that kill you in like 2 seconds.

If you're an engineer, shoot whoever comes close to your turrets. And don't place the dispenser right next to your turret because people will come to it and you'll have a lot of shooting to do for spies.

I've only been killed by a Spy once.

I've killed all spies before they get to me, if I'm guarding an area I shoot anyone who walks in the room first.

It seems to me like spies are overpowered. I had an easy time wracking up kills with it. You just go invisible, run through the front line and knife guys in the back. As soon as you are spotted you go invisible again and repeat.

if your having problems with spies, just become pyro and flame your teammates, they are easy kills, and if I'm not pyro i shoot everyone i see, and check their health. Because, whenever I'm a spy the enemy will shoot me to see if I'm a spy, but i act like nothing happened and they go away.

I hate snipers, they're the only ones who ever kill me when I'm playing as Heavy.

The demoman is annoying too though.

HWG takes 4 rockets to kill. :(

So wait, when you got shot you arent revealed? IS that only for when you're invisible?

No, spies arent revealed unless they panic and attack HOWEVER the color of their Blood is a dead giveaway - you bleed your team color when hit if you look closely.

As an Engineer, Spies are definately the most irritating class, those Electro Sappers destroy turrents without decloaking them, so unless you shoot EVERY team mate that approaches your turrent, they can destroy it immediately without any danger. Also means you're tied to defend your turrent when there is a spy around.

It's not immediately... it takes a few seconds and the egineer can just wrench the sapper charge off. And yes, engineers are by far the most irritating as the sentry guns seem way too powerful... in TFC they'd at least have to lock on to you for a second before they destroyed you but these just instantly start firing as soon as you're in view... plus no grenades to kill them with now!

Yea I'd say engineer only because turrets seem a bit too powerful...

Damn it i wanna try the beta! Stupid credit card system!

In my opinion the spy is the most annoying to deal with, he can be invisble for quite some time and he can severely spam that sapper charge device making it almost impossible to keep anything up.

I don't think they're overpowered..spies have pretty low HP, and will die in a few shots. Yes you can disguise and go invisible, but pretty much everyone shoots at their teammates now, so you really have to be good at disguising yourself. The main purpose of spies is to sneak in and take out key enemies, snipers, heavies, engineers and their turrets. If your cover is blown in enemy territory chances are you're dead.

The reason I think they're annoying is because when I'm a sniper on 2fort and some guy who looks to be on my team runs up behind me and just stabs me before I know what happened is kinda annoying. I honestly don't feel they're overpowered though.

in TFC they'd at least have to lock on to you for a second before they destroyed you but these just instantly start firing as soon as you're in view

I totally agree - this is my major gripe with TF2. There should be a tiny delay/audible cue so you can pop back into cover if you're quick.

Turrets exist in TF to defend zones/objectives and lock down choke points. They should be effective at pushing back an offensive rush, not for instantly taking out a single target who just happens to pop into view for a split second. That adds absolutely nothing to the game other than making it less enjoyable.

Balancing is fine for me, I've not had problems with any.

The spy can get past a lot but it just takes a simple TAB check to see if their name matches the class they've chosen on your side. A good tip is to just wack everyone you run by. ;) I was surprised how many I've caught by randomly shooting team mates.

I think the game is very well balanced at the moment, mostly because every class has the capacity to own major face if used correctly.

I agree that it's well balanced, but think TF2 could be more fun without messing that up. A few little tweaks here and there - still early days.

I am more annoyed at class combos.

Medic+Heavy is pretty tought but last night I was most annoyed at a Demo and Engineer that set up turrents and a teleport in our waterway on 2fort. Between the demo's sticky bombs and the engineers turrent it took me several deaths to clean them out.

Yeah, I just hate it when devs really nerf the hell out of stuff... like Company of Heroes tends to be completely different after each patch because they make changes that annihilate all the old strats and stuff.

Can the scouts still expose the spies from touching them like they could in tfc. also detpaks, are they still defusable.

There are no detonation packs.

I'd have to say.....I don't know. I really don't have any gripes with any of them. If I have to pick one, I'd say the scout. Darn fast little buggers, and I can't ever hit em.

It all depends on what class YOU are.

Turrets will rip many classes to shreds, but Soldiers, Demomen, and Spies can take them down easy. You just have to do quick shots and duck back. I've even taken down a turret as a Medic - because the Engi was nowhere to be seen and I had time to creep around the corner and line up a shot without getting targeted. With medic aid, the Heavy does the job well also - he just has to do it in a couple waves. Shoot it, heal up, finish it off. If they're in the open, the Sniper is perhaps even better. He can headshot the Engi that's healing it, then take it down in only two or three hits.

Spies can get quite annoying, especially if you haven't seen them in a while and aren't thinking about it. But if you're on your toes, staying vigilant, and watching your back --- Well, Spies get shredded up pretty easily. Snipers have the toughest time mostly because, to be effective, they need to keep their eyes forward and thusly not to their back.

The Scout's ultimate nemesis is the Engineer. The turret will rip you to shreds, and there's nothing you can do about it. On the other hand, however, given the proper circumstances, the Scout can tackle any of the other classes and be victorious. (Though you'll probably end up slim on health.)

The Medic's a bit of an enigma. If he's doing his job (keeping his eye to the back), helping push the assault forward with a skilled attacker, and positioning himself tactically, he really does make a huge difference. But if he ends up alone amidst the enemy, it's a coin toss against a Sniper, Spy, or Scout, and almost surely a loss against all else.

Well, I could go on, but I think that's point enough for now.

I think everything is pretty well balanced. I don't get how people say that the turrets are overpowered, just take one heavy + medic and they're gone in seconds. The only class I find HARD TO PLAY is the pyro, or maybe I just suck with it.

noQ, you really have to plain-out ambush with the Pyro. He's almost like a Skulk in NS. He'll get mowed down if he is out in the open. But he does serious damage up close. He's also the absolute most effective spy-killer. So far as I can tell, Spies don't bleed when camouflaged, so most classes really have to be certain and fire several shots. The Pyro, however, will light them up and instantly expose them. The Pyro's good fun against an aggressive team, but not so much against turtles.

Yeah the pyro is almost completely a defensive class, I can think of only a few situations where you would use the pyro to assault (maybe in close quarters indoor combat). As other people have stated the pyro will get killed easily in long-range combat scenarios. However, when it comes to short range combat, no other class can top the pyro.

The medic is another underplayed class, people underestimate a medics use when he's teamed up alongside a heavy. Make the heavy invulnerable, and you've got yourself a killing machine. However if you end up alone in enemy territory, like silarn said chances are your ass is grass if you can't get out of there before you're found by the enemy.

Demoman is useful because he can be out of range of sentry guns yet still have the ability to take them out by bouncing grenades around corners. Aside from the spy, this class is basically the engineer's worst nightmare.

As a participant in a MES(Mass Engineer Situation, basically when half your team turn into engineers and build an impenetrable wall of turrets backed by several dispensers around your last control point), I can tell you than nothing kills turrets dead quite like an Ubercharged Heavy.

Anyways I find the Spy being the most annoying class...nothing worse than just hanging around, minding your own business, then Bam! Backstab'd. Although it's fun when they fail and get a Bone Saw to the face.
