It was one of the first mods like that so it had a huge fan base that kinda stayed with it and never moved out to other newer better mods.

Theres a lot of Far Cry bashing going down. I'm prolly 3/4 through the game and I still find it to be top notch, but I won't inforce my opinion until I beat it.

The reason I put the game on my list of overrated games, is because I think that everybody is in love with the graphics. It is a matter of taste, I just don't like the hole story, and I feel that the game quickly got repeative, but hey, not all agree, and I'm not saying that I'm right. In the matter of tast, we are all right!

Anyway, Doom 3's fanfare is about the "advanced graphics" it has. Or that's what is was about until S.T.A.L.K.E.R raised the bar ten notches .....

Congratulations, you can't understand sarcasm. Perhaps I made an obvious contradiction in order to make my point better? Nah, that couldn't be it.

I even tried to make it obvious by adding the "But seriously...". I don't know why I even try.

Now first thisgs first. i am very leniant tawards games. I dont take notice of the tiny mistakes and look at the bigger picture... and i ususally like most top sellers.

but far cry's gameplay sucks tbfh. I own the game, and i have got about 1/2 way throuh... i just dont find it fun... big levels dont intrest me because theyre bland and NOTHING IS ON THEM. each island has like 2 huts and a "secret facility" that is infact the next level. i would have loved it if they had actually made secret areas to explore with hidden weapons in... whats the point in a huge world if the only interesting bits are the parts that your supposed to go to?

and the acyual part that matters- killing things- doesnt seem very satisfying to me. now what i scall satisfying, for example, is me blowing someones head off in CS with an M4. it just feels so satisfying! but far cry just feels too smooth, and when you kill people they just kindof fall over. plus there are basically no weapons... what good is a secret facility if it has boring weapons? they should have interesting weapons hidden in secret locations guarded by enimies, with interactive stuff inside.

Plus the story seems pretty bland. Sulkdodds told me the whole story before i bought it, and it doesnt sount that good... the levels just span from "island" to "island" to "secret facility" to "island in dark" to "secret facility again..." for me, there were no suprises. i want to go into space, not some crappy volcano!

basicly, the game is just the bare minimum to make it sell. any less, and it would have had huge parts missing, but any more and there would be loads to keep me satisfied.

ill complete it one day, i just have better things to do ATM. like eating sheep.

I actually enjoyed those early levels you mentioned. Atleast you had options in them, various routes to take and vehciles to get there. Many of the latter levels are dire in comparison :/ (with a few exceptions)

On the whole, I agree tho. What were they thinking with the human Trigens :/ (loved the moneky ones tho ) And why do people rave about the Rebellion level?? I guess the start could be impressive if you've never played Halo, but the awful, generic Trigens just suck the enjoyment away

I totally agree with everyone saying sp halo is overrated, but if you get a bunch of friends together and play co-op it could one of the greatest console experiences ever( was for me). I suggest those who havn't played halo coop at least try it.

Disagreeing with someone and explaining why you actually like/dislike the game is still just expressing your opinion. An argument is two people trying to understand/resolve differing opinions. If everything had concrete, factual answers there would be nothing to argue about.

Both of these games were extremely overrated if you ask me.

KOTOR took the easy way out with the story (an important element for an RPG of its type) ok...we found this out...now go here, here, here, here and lastly end up here ...hop to it. You find out what most of the story is gonna be pretty close to the beginning of the game.

I found Morrowind to be a too open-ended and not plot-driven enough to keep me interested.

Overrated games:

Halo, Far Cry, Counter-Strike, and Halo again for emphasis. I actually liked all of those games (Except for Halo, that was a piece of shit, but CS and Far Cry are cool) but they didn't nearly deserve the amount of praise they got.
