Most underrated games.

Vampire the masquerade:bloodlines not perfect, but certainly worth playing
That game rawked so damn much it almost brought me to tears D:

Sid Meier's Pirates was indeed aweshens. Finding secret treasures and family members ftmfw. The sword fights were also absolutely great, the dancing was too hard D: and the ship fights were hawt.

The thread is about GREAT games that you would like to see a new version or a sequel

MOST UNDERRATED GAMES

:p

But seriously, i see your point, but i'm just saying that everybody's at least heard of riddick by now, and those who have heard of it have also heard of its caliber. So still its by no means underrated. Maybe underexposed.

Also, Vampire: Bloodlines, totally forgot about that. Tempted to install it again and update it with those patches now my computer is better.

I used to have some homemade cfg files that would give me loads of weapons :p

Operation Flashpoint

I got this game a few days ago and I think it is under rated actually(even though it won awards). It has a decent fanbase but it should have been larger. There is a semi sequel called Armed Assault coming out soon which is being made by the company that made Operation Flashpoint (Bohemia Interactive). The sequel Operation Flashpoint 2 isn't being made by Bohemia Interactive and the release date is TBA. The Publisher for Operation Flashpoint (Codemasters) owns the title Operation Flashpoint and that's why Bohemia can't use that title anymore, and they came up with a new one. Armed Assault could be unnofficially called Operation Flashpoint 1.5.

This game is worth playing, if you can find it get the game of the year edition( it comes with the main game and 2 expansions). This is probably one of the most realistic military games you'll ever play.

G-Police on ps1, anyone remember this? a futuristic game where you play a cop who pilots a chopper around the city or sumit, that game was awesome.

Ah, yeah. That was a pretty cool game, played the demo a lot. I later borrowed the full version from a friend (which I had for years without giving back ;)). I remember playing all the way to the last mission but I had no idea what I were supposed to do so I gave up there and didn't complete it. :|

yeah i got the demo with a ps1 mag and played it for hours just travelling the city using the plasma gun on anything that moved:sniper:

SID MEIER'S PIRATES

Started playing yesterday OMG WHAT A ****ING FUN GAME

I love Pirates. Every now and again I get it out again and have a little sail around.

I would say the Theif games, especially number 2. They got good reviews, but then nothings happened for ages. Just think of the possibilities now with all these lighting effects and better gfx cards coming out!!

I had the demo for that! It seemed pretty awesome, and I actually liked the graphical style since it looked great (back then) and ran well on my (back then) computer.

Populous.
Had this on the Atari, could never figure out how to play beyond moving land... finally got my knight to go battle the other one once, then accidentally caused the apocalypse x_x

Future Cop LAPD:

This game > you.
F*CK YEAH!! My friend had this on his Playstation before I got mine, we played the multiplayer mode non-goddamn-stop for freakin ages. It was excellent in coop and adversarial, I can't believe more hasn't been done like this!

One that hasn't been mentioned yet - ONI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oni_(computer_game))

Third-person fighting/shooting game done anime style, by Bungie. Really loved this game, the fighting moves were varied and fun to pull off and the weapons were pretty cool. Graphics were great too, I thought. Also loved the anime feel, and Konoko was just damn cool :D

Wasn't perfect though, the controls could be pretty awkward at times and the environments were often dull and uninteractive. Would definitely warrant a more polished sequel, if Bungie ever gets time for a side project or two :)

I still have the original disc for Earthsiege 2, The Razor was the best (the flying thing) to have, but they were god damn annoying enemies... The disc in in perfect condition, too...

You mentioning it makes me wanna play, off I go!

I thought Oni was a cool concept, but the execution wasn't done right. I couldn't get behind the controls, and the voices kept pissing me off. But Oni just reminded me of another underated game (if only because of its anime stylings):

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. An FPS by Monolith (makers of Nolf) where you play a member of a security force that pilots giant robots. Has some areas where you're on foot and some areas where you're in a mech, and it's pretty fun. The mechs had a vehicle mode too so you could blaze around a level as a car, then transform into a robot and fight, then turn back into a car and speed off.

Ditto! Nothing like sending an army of tanks towards your enemies base. :E

The Shalebridge Cradle

from thief 3, worth getting t3 for imho.

Wargames: Defcon 1 for psx was awesome, i remember having so much playing co-op with my friend...

There are TONS of old N64 games that are seriously underrated. A good example would be "Tonic Trouble". Really bizarre, extremely weird sense of humor, but very fine-tuned and cool. The levels, enemies, and characters were really great :D

Jagged Alliance 2 ..great game (kept me sane during my final Term at Uni), and strangely enough now available on steam ;)

Beetle Crazy Cup needs a sequel - Amazing and fun racing game!!! Pity that you couldn't have AI drivers online (which is missing from all racing games and should be rectified) - IT HAD SPLIT SCREEN AND WORKED!!! And also allowed for AI drivers in these split screen races...So much fun ;( I miss it...

BRAVE FENCER MUSASHI! Great action/adventure-RPG that came out for the PS1, but was no one really payed attention to it with all the Final Fantasy games coming out :| They made a sequel called Samurai Legend Musashi but it sucks D: The game was really funny too, the empire you spend most of the time fighting in the beginning is called the Thirst quencher empire D: Oh and the game has Vambees n_n (Half zombie, Half Vampire)
