North Korea is a far bigger threat to U.S. national security than Iraq ever was.

I don't think it is as clear cut as you think. If Iraq cuts oil production or invades Kuwait (or whoever) the US is screwed. If North Korea launches a Nuke, the US is screwed as well.

It is a loose loose situation in my opinion. I personally would have gone after North Korea than Iraq, but both could be very dangerous to the US if they wanted to.

Try largest army in the world. Last time I checked (about a year ago) it was. 1.5 million troops at the ready backed up by the best equipment they can afford. Dont forget they have been planning for the last 50 years to invade S.Korea.

That is all tax which is then spent on government services so the net effect should be close to zero. Think of the excess tax as pouring water from one bucket to another. There is the same amount of water there, it just spread out differently.
