Well i put my order in Monday morning at NewEgg and Ordered an
Imported Half Life and a Asus X700pro Card because my current X300 want do.Im looking forward to playing Counter Strike Source also. I just hope i dont have to much lag or chppieness.
Im Running a intel 915G chips a 3.4ghz HT with 512mb at 400mhz and soon to be asus 256mb X700pro. My question is is there any body out the have a similar setup-up and if so how is you Half-Life2 running. Thanks....

well my comp is more powerful but i can say you should be running hl2 pretty nice, expect a good 80fps at things on high/1024

Don't worry about your fps. With that system It'll run great on high w/1024 resolution. By the way, congrats on the new stuff. Few things better than a new, really fast computer. I should know, I just got my Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra two weeks ago. :E

can you say 'inferiority complex'?
Yes, My inferiority complex is far superior to yours.

Well i got my 1st pc at 15 486 mhz 1 mb of ram and dos, i Ive only had this pc for about 5 days, next up grade will be ram. Ill bump it up to 1g. I did not want to take no chances playing the great HL2 on a low end card, Im a gamer on a Budget.

Was the 512mb RAM?
You will notice a difference with another 512 stick, thats what i did and it really kills those load times and some lag not that you will see any lag.

I need to start working at newegg,

then I'd be rich and you wouldn't! :D

You went intel? :|

*sigh*

...

I went Intel when I brought this PC (Intel motherboard too!). Mainly because its not just doing gaming but, Graphics, Rendering, and C++ Compiling. And I'd much rather have a PC that edges over on the Rendering and Compiling aspects than one that plays games better.

Im also starting to learn programing but im just playing with Visual Basic, I just like Intel My not be the FASTEST chip while playing games but overall its an awsome chip, beside and runing more apps in windows than Games....I just hope i dont have any seriuos problems with HL2 like memory sound glitches and looping...But im feeling very confident that the trusty P4 HT 3.4GHZ is up to the job, "I want to compile my 2gig program in VB,play HL2,burn a dvd and CD while in stuffing the net download Consintine....:)Im kidding PLus im thinking about buying a program to starting toying around with rendering and animating....I love that stuff ever since i seen Jarrasic Park at the USC college Theater back in i think 92' or 93' think i was 13 or 14.......

A 486 with only 1 mb of RAM? And no Windows? Wow. You would have been tons better off getting a 386 with 4 mb and Windows 3.11 (DOS 6.22, of course).

Back at 15 i was on a budget i top that pc out with (as of today) it has 32mb of ram win95 400mb hdd 56k modem (I think)32mb vga card. My FPS was Wolfen-stine then i went to Doom And duke nukum 3d then the big Quake thats when i upgraded to a Cyrix 133mhz CPU....I dont think i can play HL2 on it:) the system costed $500 new... and belieave it or not My lil brother still surf the web on it,....When i wake up tomorrow the Fedex man better have my stuff....And we all do Dumb this and my last attemp to up grade it was in 97 i went to FRy's and bought an AMD cpu and MOBo and some Ram so i was happy and thought my pc was going to be the Bomb if i could sneak out with a VooDoo Card, that did not work and paid for every thing else except the Voodoo card...Went to the Slammer...MY first and last time.....YOung and dumb......

I just treated myself to an XT800 PE. I considered it a cheap upgrade - I'd been looking at spending a grand on a new Athlon 64 system, but then I figured my Intel 3.0Ghz would be good for a few years yet, so opted for the g-card upgrade instead of a whole new system.

The 486 didn't run at 486 mhz, in case anyone wondered...

my 6800 ultra is superior by far! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :)

mine did 140 mhz... and that was pretty impressive at the time! i needed to cool it with a fan as well, no passive cooling for me no sir.

aah, those were the days.... now you need some big coolers to keep the temp down.... ah well

*goes to play solar winds on his 486*
