Here.

A few more here.

Looking ok, but hard to tell how it plays til ya get on it for real! I never liked Halo, but 3 may be something I find quite fun whenever I get my hands on a 360.

Apparently all of the real graphical enhancements have yet to be added also....

Looks like Halo 2 with updated graphics

I'll still buy it, even though there's a large chance it'll be the same shit over again

Are they f*cking serious!?

Looks like Halo 2. They've had all this time to work with the X360 hardware and this is all they can come up with? World textures look low-res and shitty.

Ditto

I didn't even see any "cover up the visuals with motion blur" stuff

Like I said, they have yet to add all of the incredible effects that will really set it apart form the previous titles! (Well, I am sure that's the idea at least. Its the only excuse for such uninspir -ed/-ing shots.)

My thoughts exactly. These are woefully underwhelming. Looks like an upgrade from Halo 2 rather than a proper sequel (much like Halo 2 was to the first game).

I trust we'll see better further down the pipeline, but those screenshots are disconcerting. Hopefully the gameplay won't be another ****ing rehash again.

Low-res images = YAY!

Quoted for truth - there's nothing special about those screeshots. I'm hoping we'll see actual depth to the gameplay this time around as well, but looking at Halo 2, my hopes certainly aren't high.

Doesn't look very impressive at all imo, I'm having trouble believing this will in any way be the final graphics, looks incredibly much like Halo 2 really..
I'm guessing they could pull a GRAW(360 vers), using different graphics for the MP and SP part of the game..

Come on guys - these are alpha shots. If you think the final release won't look a whole lot better you're mistaken.

I'm going to go mad here and steer away from caring about what those graphics look like and look in to it a bit deeper by actually checking out the maps, which look damned cool.

Some very big maps, so it seems. I can only hope they take a leaf out of BF2's book and go for some more tactical aspects this time, combinding proper squad combat instead of running around innanly as a one man army on small, dull levels.

Yes, perhaps it will look better, but I still have my doubts as to whether it will play better.

Never really liked halo, I will not be getting this either; It's a waste of hard earned money. :|

The graphics atm look like shiney halo two graphics. PLUS there is ANOTHER remake of Blood Gulch (*sigh*)

But there is something I notice... is that the return of the original assualt rifle?! :D I think it may be! Now they have to de-nerf the pistol and return it to its state of pwnage for me to be happy with it. :p

Half-Life 2: Episode Two will look incredibly so much better than Halo 3, especially with the delay.

Please, just... don't go there. Lets have a Half-Life 2 > Halo (or vice-versa) clean thread.

I don't care about how it looks. I want to know about multiplayer weapon balancing and whatnot. They had also get rid of the noobified features they added into Halo 2.

Too late. ;(

Frankly, I don't like the Halo series at all, but I was trying to provide the info for those of you who do like it and I know there are some of you out there. The really good job for Bungie would be to convert those of you like me who feel the series has been largely overrated. I would frankly love to have H3 prove me wrong, but I will withhold my final decision til its out and I give it a go.

You can't help but notice the lackluster level design, the half-assed A.I, & the utterly repetitive gameplay. Halo has never has done it for me & probably never will. Halo doesn't live up to the hype that surrounds the game. I therefore challenge Bunge to make me have a change of heart. The end.

If I get the X-box 360, it will not be because of halo.

I'd like to reply with an argument to what you've just said (esp. the A.I. part.... DAMNIT, I'm already closing in now) but that'd contradict my earlier post and I'm just fed up of this argument.

Victim: Thats cool, thanks for the pics regardless, although the second link doesn't show any pictures for me, but thats probably my silly PC doing that. Heres hoping it can sway you and others alike into playing.

Say what you will about the level design but the AI was tougher to beat on Legendary than any other AI I've ever faced. Those damn elites keep dodging my grenades and flanking the shit out of me.

If the single player is anything like Halo 2's then meh. I wont get it.
Single player is as good as or better than the first then I'll get it.

Screens look ok.

Just as I expected.
Still looks like an Andy Warhol picture, fruity as ever.

andy warhol for all weirdness was quite a brilliant artist ..he's done more for modern culture than most ...can you say the same Uriel?

Well... i mean yeah it looks pretty... but it just looks halo 2 level. Which is pretty... but doesn't really look any different.

lol, it sounds like you never learned how to do it.

No...all you had to do was stay behind cover so they dont see you, peep out just enough for your hand/crosshair to actually lob the nade to the elite (if your aiming with your body covered on the left, you have to step out a bit more otherwise the nade will hit the wall since you throw with your left hand) and as soon as it goes out in the air, quickly step back to cover your hand/ crosshair. Of course they'll beat the hell out of you if you expose yourself. Legendary mode was never run and gun, it was smart run and smart gun.

The moment the grenade is in the air they dodge to the side. If you try to predict where they'd dodge, they see it'll miss them and they won't even move.

Yeh - they are buggers to get. Throwing a frag to trick them into jumping out of cover worked well. It's things like this that really sets Halo aside from other shooters. Don't listen to the naysayers here - Halo has FAR more depth to its combat than any other fps.

Oh, well there's always the crafty stealth grenade tags, but I was talking about in the heat of combat.

Find cover, or make sure you aim very well, but 98% of legendary mode you shouldn't find yourself in a very heated battle without cover. That last 1% is just the final run to the Long Sword Fighter. The other one being 'If only I had a superweapon' part.

Bullshit.

Yah, but what about these alpha shots compared to GoW's alpha shots??

Pish posh, Halo's combat was amazingly repetitive. :|

It reminds me of the original, which is a great thing. I saw the AR so I'm hoping they bring back some of the other weapons.

I think what Halo had for me was very solid combat and movement, in comparison to most of the console shooters of the time. The huge enviroments were also dynamite; I remember exploring all the platforms, crevices and whatnot, and thinking how amazingly scaled everything was. The multiplayer and co-op helped it immensely though. Certainly wouldn't have seen the same success without them.

HL2's was worse.

And so it begins again.

Bullshit, I loved Half-Life 2's gameplay, revolutionary thing's like the gravity gun where you can manipulate physic's. Then there was the puzzles which I enjoyed & that required people to use their head, Chracter interaction is a plus; I was quite content with Hl2's gameplay.
