Bullshit, I loved Half-Life 2's gameplay, revolutionary thing's like the gravity gun where you can manipulate physic's. Then there was the puzzles which I enjoyed & that required people to use their head, Chracter interaction is a plus; I was quite content with Hl2's gameplay.

It reminds me of the original, which is a great thing. I saw the AR so I'm hoping they bring back some of the other weapons.
I think what Halo had for me was very solid combat and movement, in comparison to most of the console shooters of the time. The huge enviroments were also dynamite; I remember exploring all the platforms, crevices and whatnot, and thinking how amazingly scaled everything was. The multiplayer and co-op helped it immensely though. Certainly wouldn't have seen the same success without them.
I'm thinking the same way. These new screens feel more like the Halo I enjoyed instead of the incoherrent mess that was Halo 2. You can look at these new screens of the levels and instantly say "that's Halo" whereas if you tried to do the same with Halo 2 level screenshots you'd think it's just another generic shooter. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes by changing the colors to the grey and blue of Halo 1 from the yellow and brown of Halo 2. This is why good level design is crucial.
These new screens, despite not being graphically impressive, have me feeling a little more optimistic about Halo 3 than before.
So how about those marginally improved graphics?
AmishSlayer said:I want to be optimistic but unless they pull a 180 and bring the MP game back to the skill-based style of play they had in Halo 1 and take away the auto-aim - the terrible hitboxes, the melee attack lunges (not just the sword - every melee attack has a lunge to it).
If they bring back the skill I'll be beyond happy.

HL2 has far more depth in terms of gameplay than Halo.
Yeah, and were not going to make this another HL2/Halo thread, so we'll end that here and keep chatting about these dire screenshots.
Quoted for truth - there's nothing special about those screeshots. I'm hoping we'll see actual depth to the gameplay this time around as well, but looking at Halo 2, my hopes certainly aren't high.
andy warhol for all weirdness was quite a brilliant artist ..he's done more for modern culture than most ...can you say the same Uriel?
Are they f*cking serious!?
Looks like Halo 2. They've had all this time to work with the X360 hardware and this is all they can come up with? World textures look low-res and shitty.
Alpha build.I can see that bungee has not taken advantage of the Xbox 360's capabilities, what a complete waste of time. Do not feed into microsoft corporate triad.
Alpha build.

I hope this is the last time I have to repeat that.
hehe, made me chuckleIT LOOKS HORRIBLE
Hah, couldn't resist.
>:0Hey stigmata that looks like a beta build to me. omgwtfpwned.!!!!!!!!@$#
Alpha build.

I hope this is the last time I have to repeat that.
Looks bad.
You must not get the point where they say, "THE PICS LOOK LIKE SHIT."
Alright, but thats not the point. The reason why we keep repeating that it is an Alpha build is because thats not what the final product is going to look like You seem to have a very hard time understanding that.
