NEW HighQuality CS:Source Pics & Jess Cliffe Interview

Not a game i'm going to be screaming for but it shall be nice to have a go if it comes free with HL2. I guess i might as well get broadband soon.

I finally gave up and checked the pics. and wow, do they look great...really, I didn't think CS: Source was looking that good, but now I do :)

You know... I feel somehow ashamed when a Valve employee posts on these forums, I feel ashamed for everything that is said, and I just hope against hope that they just posted when they got the chance, and they don't have time to heed all the negative stuff that goes on here...

It's like I feel personally responsible for all the negativity, it's not good for my health ;)

Go kill yourself m8. Best cure!

OMFG the wall and floor textures look exactly like old CS
its like, having nice models on top of crappy ass textures

Valve said they are constantly upgrading textures, and please they are much better than cs 1.6, even still. Go PLAY the thing for once before you start trolling. :hmph:

the map geometery has spike edges and needs beveling

FFS,bitch at the final product, if you don't find all that. Work is still in progress, remember.

I had an email back and forth with cliffe yesterday, jus figure I'd post his most recent message here:

BTW, what I'm referring to in this email thread with you is the lack of
DoD: Source information we've been putting out. Most everybody from the
DoD team is busy jamming on CS:S right now. We'll release new DoD:S info
sometime later. A couple people on the hl2.net forums are reading too
far into my statements...

1, 2, 3 ....GO!!!!

Ok, speculators.. let the new rants flow in!

if youre all so fussed about hl2 dm, just make a mod? its not like there would be much work to do.

I bet nobody would play it either, which is why they arnt including it.

What the hell are you talking about? HL2 DM with the Source engine would kick total ass..

you wouldnt be able to include the manipulator for a start, and without that it'd just be plain old boring hl multiplayer.

not that i dont find CS mindnumbingly boring as well.

Why wouldn't you be able to include the manipulator?

imagine every player rapidly manipulating objects all over the place, its far too much information to be sending around.

Not if it's scaled appropriately.. anyways, you don't need the manipulator for a good old fashioned Death Match...

Dr0ndeh said:
hldm is nothing like 'old fashioned' deathmatch.

What would be considered old fashioned death match then? HL is 6 years old.

I know you all might consider me an a-hole for this but doesn't this thread belong in The CS: source forum? I mean HL2.net has one for a reason...Sorry if you think i'm a jack@$$ for saying it....

What he said.

I like to have small LAN events with my dad, 1v1 on killbox, and I think it would be GREAT for us to be able to have a match with source engine...:p

I think some of the more recent posts bear this repeating...
