  • Zelda Wii's official title is "The Legend of Zelda". There will be no subtitle.
  • The game tells a story several hundred years before Ocarina of Time.It also answers the question of how the Mastersword came into being.
  • The fairy-like girl plays is a very important character in the game. Her Name is Zordiana.
  • The Hookshot is also in the game and it has new abilities. It will not pull you immediately to the target you aimed. Now it is possible to swing with the Hookshot, like with the Grappling Hook from WW. The Hookshot makes no use of Wii Motion Plus.
  • Sometimes you have to "draw" a specific symbol on a door with your sword, to open it.
  • The Bow-Control is very similar to the Bow-Control in Wii Sports Resort, as the script shows.
  • There are two levels of difficulty. Aonuma put it through. Miyamoto didn't want to include it.The Normal-Mode for amateurs. The Hero-Mode has no "Super Guide" included and the enemies tougher.
  • The On-Stage Dungeon, which is also playable at E3, isn't a Dungeon as we know it from the Zelda series. When entering a Dungeon, you will not notice you are in one. It will be a smooth gradation. There will be Dungeons with no Bosses and Bosses with no Dungeon. The "Dungeon" you are able to play at E3 will be an Ice-Level. It will be the frist "Dungeon" in the Game.

when is this penciled in for playing at E3 i.e. when can we expect videos?

This sound a bit like it gets dumbed down for the main wii target group, annoying Wiimote drawing minigames are a very bad sign IMO.
Also unsure about how well the new dungeon system will work out, the old formula was perfect.

Atleast, I hope Nintendo still knows how to make a proper game and will make a kickass sequel to Twilight Princess.

zomg! K i am NOT a ninty fan or a zelda fan but thank jesus ****ing christ SOME DAMNED INNOVATION!!! PRAISE BE!!

I dont even play these games and i'm glad to see this -_-

It sounds more like a semi-reboot than a dumbing-down to me. I've grown tired of the "town, environment, dungeon, item, boss" cycle, and this change will make it play more like a heroic story than a colour-by-numbers progression.

The conference is at 9.00am PST/5.00pm BST/6pm CET. Can't wait!

I'm liking the sound of seamless dungeons and world bosses. I wouldn't be concerned either, Dinnesch - Nintendo won't stray too far from the formula. It's not broken, but we're now on the 6th (?) 3D zedla and change is needed. Galaxy 2 should put any doubts to rest - Nintendo still make the best games in town :afro:

perfect as it may be, it has been slightly overdone now. i agree with stig on that it's become very formulaic - i welcome change here, but we'll see.

i don't, however, agree with aha on that this is ''finally'' innovation as i believe that the zelda games have progressed very well the last few years. i'm not sure how you can say this if these aren't even games you play? :|

edit: cheers warbs.
edit: anyone got any streaming links to E3 at the moment? i'd quite like to watch it live.

You're disappointed that there's a difficulty setting? I'm really happy about this. Twilight Princess was not hard enough. Anyone who complains that there shouldn't be difficulty settings because it's a Zelda game and Zelda games don't have difficulty settings should be slapped over the head with a Wii remote. You know the actual game The Legend of Zelda? The one on the NES? The very first Zelda game ever? That had a hard mode/quest and even on normal mode it was fifty times more difficult than Twilight Princess (I still haven't gotten past the dungeon with all the Wizzrobes and Likelikes. God damn it that's a hard ****ing room).

Also, more streamlined gameworld and less obvious dungeons sounds good to me. It's hard to be surprised by a Zelda game because you how most of it is going to be played out in terms of "do sidequest to unlock dungeon, defeat miniboss and find new item, defeat boss, unlock next sidequest to open the next dungeon." You can usually gage pretty easily how many dungeons you have left. Don't get me wrong; I've loved every Zelda game I've ever played, but the ones I love the most are the ones that diverge from the normal (ie, that don't entirely copy ALttP). Especially Majora's Mask.

Amen, brother. Change is good.

Miyamoto didn't want to put in mode for people who don't want advantages in an adventure game.

Get the f*ck out of here you queer. Go spread your bullshit to some other jap piece of shit game.

Looking over the article the source doesn't look especially solid (My other post was only after having read the OP). We can hope it's true, but my doubts are growing.

Twilight Princess was not hard enough.
I haven't played this one but rest assured the 'default' is the harder mode and the easier is indeed for the super noobs. Though the other way around would be pretty wicked.

Nice.

Uhh, the Zelda games on DS had plenty of drawing. Go complete Spirit Tracks and then tell me they're "dumbed down."

Hmm looks like I might have to get around to buying a Wii now, dangnammit.

Nice.

DS drawing is SOOO MUCH DIFFERENT FROM WII DRAWING. Seriously. It's bearable on the DS but on the wii it's just terrible.

Also I do not regret selling my wii in the slightest.

Oh man, I cannot WAIT to see this one. Nintendo will be ruling E3 with just this and the 3DS. Good times are ahead!!

Keep telling yourself that ;)

*Loads up Galaxy 2 and smiles*

I sold my Wii aswell and haven't regretted it.

Admins: Using a emulator doesn't mean piracy, I bought the game god damn it

Ontopic: Damn, I'm hyyyyyyyped :D

Edit: Uhh, pretty sure you need to own the console for emulation to be legal, bro. Nintendo still own the rights to the bios you're probably using to run it. ;)

So... because it's more difficult, that makes it a "very bad sign" that it's going to be targeted at OMG CASUALS? Having trouble following that logic (not your's, whoever I quoted previously).

Anyway, I somehow doubt it'll be overbearing, especially if it's just drawing symbols on doors as the OP implies. Nintendo tend to use pretty moderate waggle in their first party games (besides Wii <something> titles, like Sports), it's mostly third party stuff that overuses it to annoying effect. Not to mention they already said the new Zelda title would require Motion Plus.

It's not just difficult, it is no fun.
Nintendo shows they still know how to make high-quality games(Mario, Zelda, and SSB atm), and I'm just afraid that Zelda is going in a very different direction which I don't like. I think that isn't very likely, though.

Nope, Dolphin uses a emulated BIOS, no Nintendo code inside. :dork:

Out of interest - is that working ok? Whenever I go to the Dolphin forum it's full of people with problems getting things to work and putting up with speed issues, odd sound/visuals and other oddities. The second everything runs flawlessly and easily i'll be all over it.

No, it does not work flawlessly. You need to have a fast CPU, buy a bluetooth adapter, wireless sensor bar and it takes quite some time to set Dolphin up properly. Even then there are still some occasional slowdowns(eg at Hyrule Field in Zelda TP).
But I almost finished TP on Dolphin now, and IMO it's worth the hassle.(I'm the kind of person who actually enjoys needing to put a lot of work in getting something to work)

Can you run Galaxy 2 on Dolphin without any major compatibility issues that hinder gameplay?

Ah, my mistake.

Anyway, I don't think drawing shit on doors is in any way a warning sign of Zelda changing radically (and even so, how that's automatically perceived as a bad thing is still beyond me), especially since, as I already mentioned, they've done it before. In any case, these are still just rumours, so.~

It requires some tweaking to get past the first final boss, but for the rest it runs like a charm for me with the latest SVN.
Really, setting up to make games run at full speed takes a lot of time and a good PC, so be warned.

Even if it was just a formulaic Zelda exactly the same as OoT and TP I'd have been hyped but this sounds like a whole new game.

Hype to the max.

Exciting times, wonder if with all this jiggling around of the classic forumla they'll give Link a makeover.

How have NO images or anything leaked yet??? I want pics damnit!! What is the art style like???

How is that btw? The PSP is the one console I lack and i'd like to try Peace Walker.

So amazing. It's like all the metal gears put into one, with MORE STUFF.

The E3 presentation pretty much confirmed my fear.

-Gameplay seems very focused on all the stuff a Wiimote can do now, at cost of the original type of weapon gameplay. Looks like it's becoming a collection of minigames instead of a action adventure.

-As the rumors said, there will be no more usual overworld-dungeon-town formula, but more of a linear one.

-Uninspired style, it doesn't have Wind Wakers classy cartoon graphics nor Twilight Princess's 'dark' style. Makes it look a bit like a generic attempt at a cartoony game.

The stuff they showed off looks terrible, I thought it was a joke at first.
