Well, I can't ****ING WAIT!

I've heard a few things about this but I keep forgetting to look up more about it. And I can't wait either.

I <3 you Ennui. :D

EDIT: Aww, I'm hoping for a teaser of sorts... maybe 15sec of each song. :( This builds the anticipation.

or they could release the whole album on myspace a week before it comes out like NIN did with With Teeth, that was orgiastic pleasure

I was secretly thinking that.

When NIN did that, I was slightly afraid that it might hurt sales, you know? Why go out and buy the CD if you can just save the songs on Myspace and keep them? Obviously it hasn't.

Yeah, but Myspace streaming songs are terrible quality. Had I known about the Myspace thing, and had also been into NIN at the time, I probably would have bought the album anyway.

Tool songs are too much alike :|

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

This is going to be orgasmic.

I just hope it's more like Aenima than Lateralus.

I don't feel like sitting through 10 minutes of maynard's cat being strangled and then the sound being slowed down.

I agree. Aenima's songs were unbelievable. That's not to say I don't love Lateralus, but I'd prefer something more in the vein of Aenima - though to be honest, I'm willing to bet the sound will have evolved significantly into something even more awesome by now.

I'm gonna try get more into Tool with this album approaching.

In other May 2nd Album Release News, Pearl Jam are coming out of the wilderness! :D

Pearl Jam announced today that they will release their highly anticipated, self-titled, eighth studio album on May 2nd through J Records. Pearl Jam's new album marks the band's first studio release in nearly four years and their first in partnership with J Records.

The album was produced and mixed by Adam Kasper and Pearl Jam at Studio X in Seattle.

Tracklisting for "Pearl Jam":

World Wide Suicide
Comatose
Severed Hand
Marker In The Sand
Parachutes
Unemployable
Big Wave
Gone
Wasted Reprise
Army Reserve

WorldWide Suicide currently on their My Space, not too shabby

May 2nd = enough time for me to hear the new material before I see them live.

Ah, yes. Tool, Friday night at Donington, in the dark... its going to be so good.

yup.
heard in January there would be a new album coming in a few months plus the band dropped hints on their website.
i just recently got the Schism and Parabola DVDs and now news of the new album.

it seems like with NiN shows (btw there is a summer tour for NiN listed on their website and i might be going :D ), getting the Tool DVDs and games such as Red Orchestra, SiN, i will be very broke this year.

OMG THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THAT

THERES A SHOW IN THE CITY NEXT TO ME, ITS THE FIRST ONE THATS NOT THREE OR FOUR HOURS AWAY

that made my day. actually it made my month.

There's one in Detroit. Hm. But anyway, this is about Tool and all their greatness. I cannot wait and I've got a couple of my friends psyched as well.

Tool and Nine Inch Nails go hand in hand :D
theres no tour dates for a Tool North American tour...but eh i hope it doesn't happen til some time in the fall anyway because im gonna be pretty broke for a while.

I don't have much doubt that Tool's going to support their album with a hella big tour, it's been five years since Lateralus for christ's sake :D i doubt it'll be earlier than fall, though, so you're fine.

Sorry to bump a fairly old thread, but the new Tool single 'Vicarious' has been leaked.

*snip*

Its wicked awesome. Think Schism mixed with even more excellent.

Indeed. The drumming, like all of Tools work, is supurb.

My apologies for the link, though. PM me if anyone wants it.

I didn't think it was too bad, I was a little dissapointed. I thought it was a little too commercial but then again it is their single.

I really hope the rest of the album is darker like aenima is.

10,000 Days has been leaked. Its on a few torrent sites now. I know some people downloading or torrenting away now so they'll inform me if its real or fake. I, however, do not download/torrent anyway but either way, I wouldn't get this leaked copy as I want to buy it.

I'm going to see them at Download Festival, where thr night will be warm and dark and it will be... well, awesome x10.

The leak is real. It's going to take a few listens to get my head around this, but it's good stuff. I'm 4 tracks in, and Vicarious is the only one that resembles past-Tool at all.

10,000 Days?...

What's with the number 10,000? :| http://www.otvali***/ibank/news/4067/disturbed--ten_thousand_fists_2005.jpg

Rosetta Stoned == \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

"Well I fooorgooot my pennnn

Shhiiit the beedd aaaggggaain, typical..."

well damn.
i was hoping to be able to see Tool live but the news of the North American leg of the tour was only posted a few days ago... :|
the Toronto show took a whole 1 freaking minute to sell out.
anyway someone feeling lucky? have a look here to see if Tool will be in your neck of the woods.

The UK dates sold out pretty fast. I was thinking of going to the London show aswell, and a few mates were talking about flying over to Amsterdam to catch them, but they sold fast. Ah well, got my Download ticket anyway so I'm more than happy.

Also, I listened to the new album at my freinds house the other day. The Pot and Right In Two fuppin' rule.

i think its fake, because vicarious sounds like normal, good Tool, and the rest of the album is completely different and horrible. therefore my conclusion is that vicarious is a real single off the real album and all the others are bollix. i hope...

Thats what alot of people over at the 10, 000 Days/Tool forums are saying. To be honest, I'm not that bothered. I think it sounds good.

I don't necessarily think it's a fake but it does seem to be a possibility. Honestly a lot of the album just seems like Lateralus b-sides. The guitar tone is very similar and a lot of riffs are reused, and in a lackluster way at that. Some of the chord progressions are laughably bad and i've really never said that about a Tool song before, not to mention Danny Carey really doesn't stand out much at all like in the past. I don't have a problem with straight forward lyrics, but some of them are just downright awful. I feel like a lot of the songs really seem like unfinished ideas and none of the album really flows together at all.

I'm not just saying this because I find it to be a disappointment, but a lot of other evidence seems to point towards it being a fake as well. That being said it does sound like Tool, and there are some great parts of the album that seem too few and far between.

Aw man, ever since the first time I heard them, I was hooked. I haven't bought an album in about 5 or more years, but I would buy this - actually I'd probably be happier to pick up some of their older stuff that I never got to listen to enough.

I hate buying music because it always sucks. Once, I went and spent $300 on CD's. Muahaha

Well anyway, I create my own music, and listen to XM satelite or internet radio as well, so I haven't missed paying $13 for a CD.

Am I still talking? Christ I've been awake for 3 days. Zzzzzz :x I'll have to listen to the sample tomorrow though

.. Tool is one of the very greatest bands of our time.
